I couldn't find a default setting that makes you go to the last post in the topic; however, also in Profile > Account Settings > Modify profile > look and layout, you can change it to where the most recent post is at the top. I'm gonna try that - lol...almost couldn't find the reply button - it is now at top.

You can also change the time zone and other things - that's  8)

Okay  - I just tried in on of the longer threads and when you check off  return to topic default in profile >account settings >modify profile >look layout ,  it does return you to the topic and the post you just made instead of at the top of the thread. So that's good. I still think I like the posts at the top though.

Yep, you did good here. A lot of work. I hope that folks help make it a success.  :)

Jo, I will be speaking with others about your joining this forum. Bruce for starters. I don't want arguments starting up, and long strung out posts made by you. the actions will be from consideration from others. there will be possibilities of removal, or restrictions applied. please understand this all happened because of what is currently going on with the other site that most of us posted on. I built this site in hopes that it will be the direct opposite of what happens on the other site.

Please understand that this will be a community decision reflecting your status.

My two cents,
I don't have a problem with Jo joining the forum, Shutter.  Her posts were sometimes very long and hard to understand, but I could usually just skim them.  As it true with anyone, if they can behave, I welcome them.  Personal attacks from anyone should be cause for dismissal.

The problem with others was when they injected themselves into every discussion, repeated the same story over and over again, called other liars and challenged others to constantly prove their case without feeling the same responsibility himself.  That, to me, was what really dragged the other forum down.

I haven't been asked to do so, but let me add my two cents anyway.  I am not going to be a snake in the grass, so what follows is my frank and personal opinion.

Jo Weber has contributed about 25 percent of the volume to the DZ thread.  Her posts on DZ have mainly been a distraction rather than a serious effort to advance the Cooper research.  Her 17+ years of researching Duane Weber has apparently not produced a single "fact" that would even remotely link him to the Cooper hijacking.

Her personal attacks on Larry Carr and others are well known.  Along with the "other fellow", she has caused people to leave the DZ thread and to the creation of a number of other threads including this one.  If Jo wishes to continue to post about Duane Weber there is apparently no reason why she cannot do so on DZ.  In fact, she might even find more readers there now who have time to read her posts as well as those of the "other fellow".

Therefore, I suggest that Jo Weber, NOT be allowed to post on this thread.  Her posts have not added anything to Cooper research in the past and there is no reason that believe that they would do so on this thread.

I would welcome Jo to this site, but first I think that she should offer a written apology to me and all those whom she has defamed with untruths and thinly veiled charcter assassinations.

I have repeatedly told Jo that over the phone, in emails and on forums. Speciifically, I have insisted on an written apology from her both at the DZ and on the Word Press blog, but Jo refuses.  She has planted her flag, and she's not moving towards reconciliation.

Frankly, Shutter, I am surprised that you let Jo get this far.  I'm disappointed. I consider Jo Weber to be highly toxic and destructive.

If Jo is here, I'm not.

Well, first of all she signed in after on was off the computer. I wanted to hear your side of what to do. please understand where I am with this. how about we put Jo on hold until she speaks with you. I have a lot on my plate at the moment. I just got home, so let me know what you think about my direction. I just received an email from her last night speaking of not coming onto either site. I didn't reply to the email. I woke up and seen she signed in. life is not over at this point. I value your opinion, so that is what I have come up with.

as it stands now, it's two against her right now. I will email her about the decision of holding her joining back until she speaks with you. that sounds fair to me?

Please Advise.

Added: I sent Jo an email explaining the reasons for the hold. she can not post at this time. from this point, I believe the problem should be solved offline.

Is there any way to fix it so that when we select a certain discussion that it takes us to the last page of the discussion instead of the first page? Just like TOS did. This may be something that I have to set in my profile, but I didn't see anything like that. Thanks.

Yes, it's a bit of pain, but after you are ready to post your comment. look below where it says attachments and other options. click on that and you will see "return to topic" check it. I'm trying to resolve the issue so we don't have to do that.

Not sure if this is what you are talking about, but there is another way to return to topic without checking the return to topic button on each post.
If you go to profile, then account settings, then modify profile, then layout and look, there one that says return to topic by default. (this is for after you post, it takes you back to the topic instead of the main screen)

Also you can have it default to" last post on top" there also. Not a perfect fix, but at least you're on the right page.

Ok...I recognize there are people who helped drag down "the other forum" that would do the same to this forum and have to be excluded.  I hope if we do prevent some people from posting, though, it would be the exception rather than the rule.

My opinion, though not sought, is that if Jo and Bruce can make peace then I'm all for her being allowed on.

I just think it needs to be made abundantly clear that talk about suspects are posted in the right place. This, of course, goes for everyone. I say that, because I'm sure it's just a matter of time before greycop shows up.

I may make that Cowards List yet!!!
