Hey Bruce, you mentioned a month or so back that you may be getting an opportunity to interview Larry Carr aka Ckret.  Was thinking another question for consideration if you have time and think it worthy, would be to ask him about the witness description regarding olive skin/swarthy/Latin Features/American Indian vs just a white dude and what he thinks of or how the FBI interpreted that data ?

I know from the 302s, that they certainly investigated Latin/Mexican sky diving clubs and also investigated American Indian suspects -- would be interested how strongly they felt about the ethnicity aspect.  Did the partial DNA sample yield an ethnicity component ?  I think someone on the forum, maybe Georger or Snow in the past, thought that the DNA test ordered had the ability to yield an ethnic profile?

I never suggested anything like that. I did look up the kit used and posted info about that.

Speculation is rampant and pointless.

Sorry Georger, didn't mean to put words in your mouth that you may not have said, not my intention. :-)

Attached is the post I was thinking about, it may be that I simply didn't fully understand it.

I'll ask Larry when we meet, which won't be until September-ish and his retirement.

I have felt for some time that more could be gleaned from the evidence - such as hair follicles and such - about blood type, and general genetic phenotypes, such as Caucasian/Northern European vs. Caucasian/Indigenous America.

There we have it! When you interview Ckret ask him exactly what the lab did with the kit it chose, the loci of the partial obtained, and Cooper's genetically determined ethnicity. That should both you and Carr on the front page of every newspaper in the Christian world.

Weather News from Cooper Country

It's barely springtime here, folks. We had snow just before Easter - a couple of inches! My potatoes have yet to poke through the soil, and they're usually roaring by now.

Snoqualmie Pass, where Walter Reca said he jumped, ahem, got 89 inches of snow in the first two weeks of April, and local ski areas are gonna stay open through Memorial Day! Yikes.

Read all about it, plus what the grander La Nina cycles, which are responsible for the cold and precip, pose for the rest of the USA - Basically more tornadoes and hurricanes - I talking Iowa here, G (!):

Made it to NY. Will be here until mid-June. Laptop seems to be working, so I'm back in the saddle.

Dice, if you're still following this site, wanna get some pastrami sandwiches sometime?

Lastly, I was amused by some tidbits of information contained in this book. One such element was a description of a female friend of Reca’s who went skydiving in high heels and landed with them still on her feet.

Thanks for sharing the nice write up Bruce.  Reca is one of the hardest suspects to take seriously.

Great job on the review Bruce. Yes, that book will be a hard pass for sure.

I always find it amusing that the people who write these books divide the Cooper followers into two categories: Those that buy their BS, and those that do not want the case solved.

Before the Vortex dismisses Walter Reca as DB Cooper, the real question is: who was Walter Reca and what was he doing in the woods of Cle Elum? Getting answers to those questions is as tough as finding the rest of the stuff at T-Bar. Getting info out of the Vinnell Corp, the FBI, CIA, et.al. Ug.

That said, I not believe Reca was Cooper. I just don't know what is going on in this story.

I never saw skydivers kiss before. Nice.

Here's an aside for you, Emily Yacina "DB Cooper" . Apparently it's about a loss of a friend with whom the last thing they talked about was Cooper.

Has Don Brennan ever corroborated any of this story ?

I don't know. I don't believe he is still alive. One more question for Vern Jones.

Shutter, can you please remove my review of Vern Jones' book. I had forgotten that he asked me for "non-disclosure" until he published.
