The FBI states that they received the proposed solution of the Z340 cipher just six days ago. The FBI cipher unit apparently has initially agreed with the proposed solution. But I strongly suggest that it will not stand the test of time. There are plenty of professional code breakers in the Washington, DC area and elsewhere who will very likely take a look at the proposed solution and I suspect that they will tear it apart.
Dave Oranchak actually WORKS with and has given talks to "professional code breakers in the Washington, DC area" including a recent talk at the National Cryptologic Museum.
The guy is the preeminent expert on the Zodiac codes. He's not some pimply-faced 17 year old living in his mom's detached garage.
And again, if you don't even know what constitutes the code, then any solution is possible.
This is an inaccurate statement. If it were true, how would any code be solved? Do some research.
Or to put it another way with an expression that was recently publicized, if you don't know where you are going, any road will get you there.
Again, utterly inaccurate and displays your lack of knowledge about the mathematics regarding codes and ciphers.
And I am not aware of any law enforcement agency that actually accepted the 1969 proposed solution of the Z408 cipher as being valid.
The FBI, the San Fransciso Police Department, the United Postal Service Police, the National Security Administration, and the Navy all verified the Z408 code solution as valid. It's also been independently verified by multiple civilian codebreakers over the last 50 years. Would you like me to provide the documentation or do you just want to take the L on this one, boss?
Robert, you may have far greater knowledge on the Cooper case than myself, but when it comes to Zodiac, let's just say you don't want that smoke. I'd suggest sitting this one out.
