The Great American Eclipse of 2017 is Monday August 21st with first contact at around 11am in the Central Time zone - in Iowa. A couple of nights ago I had the History Channel on and I was dozing off when I heard "DB Cooper."  It was the program where a skinnierTom Kaye says the money swam down the Lewis River to the Columbia River, then hitched a ride upstream on a freighter to Tina Bar.  Larry Carr appeared several times, a younger looking GG also appeared.  I'm sure you all remember that program from a few years back.  The Cooper money bag hitched a ride upstream to Tina Bar -- guess Tom Kaye really thinks the original Ariel/Lake Merwin dropzone was correct, and the money bag found a way to swim upstream to Tina Bar.  Still doesn't account for how the three bundles ended up together on the beach at Tina Bar.

In his summaries, Kaye kept saying, "We conclude from that....," or "We think that....".  Who's "we"?  Was he pregant?  Did he have a baked turd in his pocket?"  What?  Who's we?  In any event.....another brilliant Tom Kaye "scientific" conclusion.  He's full of 'em.

I think the show you were watching was, "The Skyjacker That Got Away". I think that same show promotes Kenny as a main suspect.

I tend to agree with you, Meyer, that Tom Kaye has a tendency to jump to conclusions.

But,  when he says "we", I think he's referring to him and the other two members of his "Citizen Sleuths" group.

Thanks for clearing that up for me, Mark.  I was worried there for a second.  "We" .... I thought he was carrying around a baked turd.  You know, "We" -- him and the baked turd.  Dopey moi.  Now I understand.  He has colleagues!  Okay, I get it!  Thanks.

Tom Kaye jumps to conclusions like I used to try to jump good-looking coeds at undergrad school -- lots of emotion, but with very little rigorous thought.  Some of Tom's conclusions are so ridiculous, absurd, and out there -- not the trademark of a real scientist.  But Tom Kaye isn't a real scientist, he just plays one on TV.

Don't be too harsh Meyer. TK and his crew did discover Tie Tanium. That was significant.

Yeah, well TK jumped the gun there too, if you recall.  He had it wrong about the pure titanium v. possibility of alloy titanium.  He was wrong in spite of what came to light.  This guy plays the scientist and screws it up pretty much every time.  He actually does us a disservice with his erroneous, hasty conclusions.  He gets air time to pontificate his ridiculous deductions.  How about a real scientist with a real education and real credentials?  We need that now more than ever.  This guy gets a lot of air time, and he doesn't even know what he's doing.  I wish we had a real scientist who would step up.

Meyer,

If I am doing such a crappy job, why don't you step up and publish something and put your rep on the line?

Well, Tom, actually I have published something, it's called a dissertation, I've gotten a real education, with real credentials and real experience, in my field  of expertise.  I don't go around pretending to be something I'm not.  If you had a degree in science and was credentialed as one, I would respect that.  Your lack of experience is evidenced by your hasty, and often times, erroneous conclusions -- again indicative of your lack of credentials and real experience as a scientist.

I've been a mathematics professor for many years -- I received the education, training, and experience to be called that.  When I get around to publishing something here, I assure you it will be steeped in proper academic protocol for scientific research.

With you, it's all about the rep, isn't it?

Guess you won't be inviting me to any of your seminars and i'm betting I won't be getting a Christmas card this year.....

Meyer,

Well given the fact you have at least a masters or PhD I am truly amazed at your comments. Since you are officially part of the community, you know that ad hominem attacks are frowned upon. Real Science attacks the data not the person. I have always been respectful to everyone on this forum and their ideas including Robert Blevins. Since getting involved almost 10 years ago a lot has changed. With new information comes new ideas and theories and I can guarantee that my interpretations will change with new data.

I agree with you that having new high level researchers would bring added dimension. To that end we only did minimal investigation into the 100K tie particles analyzed by McCrone and made the data public on our website. Surprisingly, I have not seen anyone step up and take a stab at analysis. McCrone's reputation is beyond reproach so that data should give a solid footing to any investigation. I also agree with you that much of what I said years ago is wrong. A lot of what I say today will also likely be proven wrong with new information in the future. In my world of science that's the way it is supposed to work.

Georger invited me into this world so I am sure he could dig up some new blood. In the mean time I await published interpretations from others.

Tom Kaye
