In reference to this new suspect out of Michigan...

It seems that anyone who has a suspect finds one or two things that tie them to the hijacker, such as being a veteran, or having worn a black tie. Then these people get an old picture and put it side by side with one of the Cooper sketches, and as long as it is a white guy with two eyes, hair, a nose, and a mouth, they are convinced it's him, even if the age difference is 20+ years.  I appreciate that this forum has some controls on membership and posts (thanks Shutter), and that the majority of the suspects proposed on here through the years at least have more in common with D.B. Cooper than just being a white male who served in the military who once wore a black tie, have a pair of eyes and hair, and rode in an airplane one time.

Anyone going to be watching the press conference online who cares to write up a little summary for those of us unable to watch? (Bruce, I'm looking in your direction)

In regard to his rejection from the CIA serving as the motive, that was my first hunch as well. But that was in 1963. 8 years seems like a long time to pass before acting on a grudge. But who knows. I'm sure there's a lot more to this story that we don't know yet.

As far as the clothing that will supposedly be unveiled today ---- just as Shutter said, I'm not sure how that can hold any water at all. A shirt or coat that dates back to the late 60s or early 70s isn't significant by itself.

Does Walt have any ties to the Pacific Northwest?

I'm intrigued, but a lot of questions remain.

Maybe he wasnt Cooper. Maybe its as simple as that!  The photos sure dont match!  :chr2:

Listening to the press conference, they eliminated Walter Reca as a suspect within five minutes.

Wrong drop zone
Wrong nomenclature for the parachutes
Wrong description of the money

Reca got it totally wrong about what chute was opened and lines cut, said it was a main, not a reserve.

They lose me when Reca, with an 8th-grade education, is threatened with jail and recruited (apparently by a spook agency) to become an American James Bond. Many passports and KGB ID given to him. Sigh...

We all know that Duane was the real US James Bond (not to be confused with Gary US Bonds). The "boys" can testify to that fact.

If the niece's facts are correct, Reca was a PJ, USAF Para Rescue Jumper. I know some PJs. NOBODY has better training for risky jumps than these guys. They are bad ass in the extreme. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

The flight path would have had to been waaaay off. Cle Elum is a good 60 miles east of Seattle.
