Despite a media onslaught by Tom Colbert, the Zodiac case has not been solved and they have not narrowed it down to anyone. This DNA announcement is encouraging, and I think the investigation is closing in on someone, but I have no idea who.

Zodiac was described as anywhere from 25 to 40 years old which would put him anywhere from late 70s to early 90s today. I'd say it's 50/50 that he's still alive.

It looks like most are of the opinion that the DNA that they have is from a woman, and thus could not be Zodiac. But that the woman in question could still have a link to Zodiac. Is that your opinion as well, or do you believe they actually know who the donor of the DNA is?
I believe they know who the donor is. The most logical conclusion is that it is a woman's, but I think it might be could be the lead investigator Inspector Dave Toschi's DNA. He is known to have forged at least one and possibly up to three Zodiac letters.

Off topic, but thought I'd share a picture of a Christmas gift I received today...

Please keep us posted on this case  if there are more developements.  Did you ever follow the Jack the Ripper case in England?  I thought the Swedish journalist put on a very strong case for Allen Charles Cross Lechmere.  He placed him at every crime scene and he found the body at the first along with another stander by.  Its called "Missing Evidence", somewhere on YouTiube.  Worth a watch.  I still like him better as a suspect than the  guy from the loony bin. They have his picture taken around 1931, not long before his death I think.  He looked like a monster. He was a meat cutter or worker.

I looked into the Ripper case but it is so long ago and the investigation so primitive that I think a solve is highly unlikely.

Nevertheless, I will continue to post updates on the Zodiac case as they come.

Parrot - thanks for the Christmas greetings. I love Robert Earl Keene, especially, it's so good to be back home again. He's one of the secret little treasures of living in Nashville - ya learn about these guys.

BTW: my ex gifted me with Internet service as a Christmas present, so I'm getting back in the saddle from ol' New York.

Yesterday morning I walked a couple blocks down the street and stood on a corner, looking up at a hillside not far away. Within minutes, a B-2 flying wing stealth bomber came over the hill, nosed down and flew straight at me. It did a banking turn right over my head, so low it seemed I could almost reach up and touch it. It leveled out and flew down the street. A few seconds later, it poured some coals on just to make some noise.

(I'm not far from where the Rose Parade starts.)

A B-2 did a flyover at the Rose Bowl game. Imagine it’s the same one.

Probably. It flies over the start of the parade at 8. Not sure exactly what time the game was, but that flyover was probably a few hours later? Also not sure where it comes from (Robert would probably know where to look for that), but my first top-of-the-head guess would be Edwards AFB. That plane could probably do that in a matter of minutes. So does it go back in between, or does it have a circuit of appearances to make? Dunno...

The B-2 was probably kept in a hangar at Edwards AFB between its flights in connection with the Rose Bowl.  Security is a big issue for that aircraft.  I think practically all of the 20 or so B-2s are based at Whiteman AFB, Missouri.

I saw Robert Earl Keene in concert about a couple years ago. (before COVID). He had Lyle Lovett with him.
His voice was a little blown out from the prior night, but still good show.

I saw him a few weeks ago, just a couple of weeks before Christmas. It was his "Road To Christmas" show, so they did some of their songs as well as some covers. They did "King of the Road", an old Roger Miller tune, as well as "Country Road (Take Me Home)", "Free Bird", and "Highway To Hell". Quite the variety of songs. I had seen him one other time in 2011. As we were walking down the sidewalk to the venue where that show was taking place, we passed Mr. Keen himself walking the opposite direction. He was walking to a store to get some cigarettes for a couple of his band members. Friendly guy. We had just finished dinner at a local brewery and one of my buddies had went to take his left over pork chops to his car and missed the whole meeting with REK. That's why there's an uneven number of us in the picture. To this day, we still give him a hard time about that.

Sweet, Parrot. Smile.

My wife says the same thing Bruce. I never smile for photos, I just don't. If you see me smiling in a photo, it's because I didn't know someone was taking a picture.

Oops, Parrot, I was smiling. I wasn't encouraging you to smile. The pix looks fine, regardless.

Update on Book Sales

I just got the end-of-year totals from my publisher, Moonshine Cove.  Since November 10, 2021, Moonshine sold 59 paperbacks and 22 ebooks. Not too shabby for seven weeks, no?

Thanks to all of you who helped me get the word out.

BTW: I hear there is going to be a DB Cooper Beer-Bash in Portland on February 1. Anyone here going? I'll be there.
