We want to find out exactly who the best 250-300 fans of the Cooper case really are.

Just read another full page of nonsense by Robert. I find this truly offensive to many.

Salutes to you, Shut and Parrot, for your generous actions to others. I'm like Kermit - at 71 I get Social Security and other federal benefits, like Medicare and Medicaid so I'm okay. Plus, the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) act is giving me 200 bucks a week to cover all the income I've lost from my part-time work where I worked one or two days a week as a blackjack dealer for a party game company; ie: office parties, fundraisers, graduation shin-digs, etc. I loved it, but it has gone bye-bye. I also worked the state fair in Puyallup, WA as a ticket seller full-time for a month, and this cash handled all the extras, like car insurance and repairs, trips to Amboy, etc.

So - I can and do stay close to home. Only go out for necessities, and I always wear a mask. I've had a chronic history of bronchitis, pneumonia, flus and colds, so I know what it's like to struggle to breathe. Now, wearing a mask and having minimal social interactions have actually allowed me to have the healthiest ten months of my life!

As a country, we seem to have a real problem getting the right stuff to the people who need it the most. I don't need a "Stimulus" check, but lots of other folks need help with everything and 600 bucks is a pittance if you're 5 grand behind in the rent - so even $2,000 is not the solution, either.

My social security payment qualifies me for food stamps, so I'm not going hungry; and seeing the thousands of cars lined up for the food banks drives me crazy, but I don't know what to do to help those folks.

As for the vaccines, whew. It seems so slow. At the current rate of inoculations it'll take years to get everyone protected. And everyone so far has to get a second shot in January? Yikes. Forgetaboutit!

What a mess.

I figure I'll have to hunker down until the Astra Zeneca shot comes out in May or June (?) or something similar, and I can get it at a Walgreens - one shot and I'm done. Might have to wait in line for ten hours, but whattheheck....

You will more than likely be behind on everything, not just rent. it's tough for a lot of people. a domino effect starts and the bleeding continues unless you get enough to stop the bleeding. a band-aid on a deep wound will always fail. the girl I spoke of earlier called me and said she has a job interview on Monday! that makes my whole day, right there.

The FBI Gear Up

My take on the FBI's actions immediately following the skyjacking. If I missed anything, please let me know. Thanks.

Chapter 7
The FBI Gear-Up

Although the skyjacking began in Portland, overall case management was given to the Seattle Field Office (FO) because it had the most interaction with Cooper. As a result, Seattle is the “Office of Origin” for Norjak.

On the night of the skyjacking, the FBI had to first orchestrate the procurement of the parachutes and ransom money; then they had to secure the airport and debrief the passengers. Subsequently, they had to track the plane, and later launch the ground and aerial search. To accomplish those tasks, they mobilized their entire office of about thirty agents.
Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of the Seattle FO, J. Earl Milnes, a 30-year vet of the FBI, lead the Bureau’s effort at Sea-Tac. Later, the Norjak case agent, Charlie Farrell, teamed with three-year veteran John Detlor and another Seattle agent, Don Steele, to spearhead the Cooper task force. In addition, they utilized a number of temporary squads to conduct aspects of the investigation, such as interviewing skydivers, Special Forces commandos, or airport personnel.

As DB Cooper flew southwards, Portland FBI agent Ralph Himmelsbach and another agent jumped aboard a Chinook helicopter at PDX and attempted to intercept Flight 305 as it passed over Portland. Their intention was to spot Cooper bailing from the aircraft and apprehend him on the ground. However, they were unable to catch up with the 727.

At the same time, Las Vegas, Nevada SAC Red Campbell and two of his agents boarded a jet and flew to Reno to rendezvous with 305, arriving just two hours before Cooper did. Campbell took charge of the overall law enforcement operation at Reno that night, combining forces with several FBI agents from the Reno “Resident Agency,” (RA) and dozens of officers from local police departments, most notably the Reno PD.

The next day - Thanksgiving Day - SA Tom Manning of the Woodland, WA RA began establishing his command post at the Woodland City Hall, and later through the holiday weekend orchestrated the search air and ground efforts of about two dozen local police officers and five helicopters. In the meantime, Portland’s Ralph Himmelsbach flew his private airplane over the Woodland-Amboy area, looking for Cooper and a parachute.

At the same time, a purported second fingerprinting effort was conducted aboard Flight 305 by Seattle FBI agents at Sea-Tac when the plane returned from Reno for repairs. Allegedly, they found a viable fingerprint on a magazine.

In addition, agents from Portland descended upon PDX and interviewed airport personnel, waitresses, bus drivers and cabbies, and employees of local motels.

Then on Friday, November 26, Tom McDowell, the deputy chief of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, headed about twenty deputies and volunteers on the ground search in Amboy, WA. McDowell told me that he had “a couple” of FBI agents nearby that he could call upon if they found any solid evidence, but most agents were at PDX interviewing airport staff, hotel clerks, and transportation personnel, looking for leads on Cooper’s identity or details on his travel or lodging.

The aerial and ground searches throughout the weekend were hampered by fog, rain, and cold and were terminated on Monday, November 29 without any physical evidence being retrieved.
On Tuesday, November 30, the FBI launched an aerial surveillance of the entire flight path, from Sea-Tac to Reno. In his book, NORJAK, Ralph Himmelsbach delivers a fascinating account of his sojourn over the northern quadrant of V-23 in Oregon. Again, nothing was found except a stray wet tarp located near Roseburg, Oregon.

Within days, teams of FBI agents began scouring the woodsheds, barns, and out-buildings of the Amboy-Ariel area, and conducted comprehensive operations there for at least two weeks.
At the same time, several newspapers began receiving letters from “DB Cooper” and passed them on to the FBI, who began investigating them. One letter led the FBI to post it in the Billings Gazette in Montana to flush out any accomplices of Paul Cini, a near copy-cat of DB Cooper who had hijacked an Air Canada DC 8 in early November in Calgary.

During the winter months the hunt for DB Cooper went nationwide, with numerous middle-aged Caucasian males named “Dan Cooper” receiving visits from inquiring federal agents regardless of where they lived. As a result, guys ranging from Cleveland to Orlando were asked about their Thanksgiving festivities or lack thereof.

In March 1972, Charlie Farrell assembled a huge search team to re-visit the woods of Amboy. Dozen of FBI agents and 200 soldiers from Fort Lewis, located near Tacoma. They camped on the shores of Lake Merwin adjacent to the dam, and spent two weeks swarming the surrounding countryside. Inclement weather forced a postponement until April, when another two weeks search re-commenced. Again, nothing pertaining to DB Cooper was found, but several other criminal cases were aided as the bodies of two missing women were discovered separately.

The soldiers also put the nearby Ariel Store into Cooper World folklore as they christened the tavern as the official watering hole of the DB Cooper investigation. Annual parties followed.

After April 1972 the search for DB Cooper became one of office-based organizational sleuthing. The ground searches were over. The aerial searches were abandoned, and few interrogations of airport or hostelry personnel were conducted. Occasionally, squads of agents left Seattle to interview troopers returning from Vietnam who had Special Forces training akin to Cooper’s skills. In addition, the dozen or so Cooper copycats that followed through the months of 1972 had to be assessed.

But by mid-1972 the Bureau had to dig deeper into the case to find investigatory threads to examine. Their perspectives, decisions and actions over the next few years follow in the next chapter.

RMB, I hear Trump is sending us money real soon. Already spent, and not on my truck I assure you. It's being saved for the food. (For the free BBQ on Saturday night) Eat your heart out Bruce Smith.

I thought Greg tossed in thousands? the stimulus is about the needy and not parties or your truck. it's for people in need that are out of work and behind. it's not much but a lot depend on that money for good use. you should be ashamed for several reasons. first, using the stimulus for a party and then making the event about you trying to one up everyone. you start losing focus of events making them personal. why would you bring up Bruce? he doesn't want anything to do with you, so why would he be envious? events are for proving things now?

Parking for 300 would require the size of a football field or 40,000 square feet. you are also responsible for sanitation which would require 8-10 porta potties. one generator for even 75 people is not thinking very well either. a free event like this could cost people over $200 buying a tent, food, gas, ice etc. then you start it on a workday which people could lose more money. all of this should be discussed in a pre-permit meeting. but you claim to already have a permit?

Music, you should have a mixture. the last time you took rock music to a country setting. no, you don't have a clue what you think to know.

One tends to get tired of hearing about Robert Blevins. he's once again attacking my character by trying to attack my political views. statements such as the one Robert uses don't have any room in the Cooper community or outside of it. everyone has the freedom of choice with everything. here is the quote Robert wrote on the DZ. I realize some of you block him on the DZ and don't see the garbage coming out of his mouth.

Quote
Whether you choose to listen to people like Shutter, a known Trump supporter (sorry Shutter but your affiliations with him DO point to character these days, or whether you are on board the Truth Train) or listen to me

That's a voice of a dictator if I ever heard one. just a couple of days ago he was begging me to help him with his event. even then he lied right to my face on two different occasions. I would never allow such hateful comments to anyone's background or attack anyone's political views. I have plenty of friends on both sides of the isle and never judge them for who they voted for or believe they voted for in any election. there is absolutely no room for politics in researching the DB Cooper case, period!

Quote
I want to be fair with everyone in the general Cooperland community,

Really, Robert. do you ever read what you post?

It's sad this country has come to actually, losing jobs, friendships, kids being suspended for political views. you have plenty of idiots who operate like Blevins. It's un-American in my opinion. hopefully, his public doesn't have the same one sided views he has. he's a lying fool seeking attention. I have a feeling Minnow production company seen who he really is on the DZ. you will notice he never supports them because he doesn't want that side of him viewed by the people he puts a front on for. this is not the first time he has done this. hopefully, the DZ will start waking up to his hatred.

He doesn't even research the case. he a spammer posting the same nonsense for years. I really don't need to explain why I want nothing to do with him. he does it for me.

I think he's gotten worse. At this point it's just pathetic and sad. The utter amount of hypocrisy, deceit, and outright willful insistent delusion he displays has gotten to the point that I think the man needs help.

I think Haggerknew suggested this a while back, and I'll suggest it again - I'm not sure the history, but if you'd get (let?) Flyjack back over here, then everyone who actually follows the case would be in one spot. Then Meso could decide whether he wants to continue hosting what has essentially become an extension of R's social media.

The history with Flyjack is not so good. a lot of bad blood between Eric, Fly and R99. I have had issues with Fly but tend to forgive more than usual with him. it's a battle of the minds and who is right or wrong. he seems to fair better by himself but keeps a close eye on the forum like he was a part of it. Georger, seems to give him more credit than when Fly left. R99, is set in his beliefs and not sure what he thinks of Fly now. he's more than welcome to return. I've only refused to allow 3 people back on this board. that turned into 2 people. Nicky turned his whole attitude around proving himself worthy of becoming a researcher. I have grown to respect him and has proven me wrong about changing. he really did.

As for Robert, he will never change. he continues to lie and it's become evident to a lot of people. I believe he's not being truthful about his event in many ways. Robert has been a problem before this forum started. if the DZ shutdown again he will scream that it's not his fault. there is no discussion on that board. Flyjack will post something new and it gets covered up with rants, spamming and off topic crap about his life and an old truck. his obsession of proving himself for being rejected appears to be the whole problem. he's up till 6-7 am every night posting crap. where does Gayla fit into all of this? is she awake all night too? do we need to call a reality show or get him on "Intervention" for help? I know people are very tired of the whole episode with Robert..

His political attacks are from an email I sent him. he was rambling on about the Russian collusion which turned out to be false. I sent him the email correcting him and I instantly became an alt-right nut job. he interprets things over one word or action. you tell him you are not sure about someone and he will tell people you hate that person. when you send a email saying basically the same things stated online he will tell people a "hateful" email was sent to him which would cause me to reveal the email showing different. once he gets proven wrong he quickly changes the subject and becomes a never ending loop.

Did you read what McNally described about jumping from the stairs?
