someone hit my truck a couple weeks back...I got the truck back from the shop yesterday...I had to wait a couple hours and while I was there the Batmobile showed up...guy paid 250 grand for it...

Is this the original 1966--or so--Batmobile?

No, it was originally made for a comic company DC, I believe...the original came from a Lincoln Futura..this was made from a Towncar..

Cool stuff regardless. 250K is some serious cash.

Found this..

Over at Fort Lauderdale Collection in Pompano Beach, FL is the perfect car for vigilantes and those who like to wear capes: a replica of the Batmobile used in the 1966 TV series. Being a Batmobile, the first thing you’d want to know is if it has gadgets. Well, I can safely say it comes with a flame-throwing Rocket Exhaust, Bat-Ray Projector, Remote Bat Computer Switch, Bat-Phone, Emergency Bat-Turn Lever and a Detect-A-Scope. Of course, the biggest gadget would have to be the 383ci Blueprint GM crate motor that’s capable of 462 hp and 471 lb-ft of torque.

Built by Fiberglass Freaks, this Batmobile was one of a series of cars that were actually licensed by DC comics. It was built around a 1978 Lincoln Town Car and was completed recently in November of 2014.

Well that sounds pretty impressive compared to the Toyota Camry sitting in the garage right now, also built in 2014.

according to the owner of the body shop..the batmobile came in for detail work..it was for sale and this guy had to have it no matter the cost...he has a man cave just across from the shop..parked outside is a Viper, a vette, Rolls, and other cars he has..cost him even more to get it street legal and running for the street...it was a show car prior to his purchase..

I expect to see this car at Barrett Jackson here in Scottsdale soon.

Do you know if the car itself was a 1966 model?

Interesting. I just assumed the TV car was a '66 (my birth year).

I'd like to have 5 minutes with you, FLYASS....but then again, I remember you saying you're 5'8" (and as tall as Cooper when you wear your heels).  By the way, are those boot heels or "fuck-me" pumps -- rumor has it you wear heels and cross dress and hit the streets after midnight.  I have shirts taller than you.  Don't worry, I won't assault you -- I don't pick on midgets -- mental or physical, and apparently you are both.

This is way over the line..I've repeatedly asked for the name calling to STOP and yet it continues..

As I mentioned last night, I don't always agree with Flyjack, or the things he says but he is presenting a theory that you can either accept or choose not to believe..this disruption does nothing for anyone or any good for this forum...

Weather Report from Cooper Country

A full-scale smoke invasion has descended upon Cooper Country. Current WAQA readings (WA Air Quality) list most of the Puget Sound Basin in the 200s. Eatonville was 272 at 10 pm PT this evening. That is Very Unhealthy Air. (Clean air is 0-50.)

Forecasts are grim. We will continue in the heavy smoke until Wednesday evening, late, - at the earliest. We may not see a break until Thursday afternoon, and then only a moderation. Plus, the high pressure system that has settled upon us will give us hot temps - 90s, but the smoke may block a few degrees worth.

We are getting sandwiched between three fire zones:
1. Out Eastside forests are burning, and the smoke is blowing back. But most of the smoke is coming from:
2. California when the winds are from the south.
3. British Columbia when the winds are from the north. BC has over 500 major fires burning at present. All of Canada is blanketed with smoke from Vancouver to Montreal.

This may be the worst smoke episode that I have ever witnessed, worse than last year. Much of eastern Washington has WAQA readings in the 300s, and that is Hazardous. The Westside may join them tomorrow. The WAQA scale ends at 400, which I take to mean: Get the Hell Outta Town. But where ya gonna go?

Unfortunately, my A/C does not have a re-circulator function, so to cool off I need to bring in air direct, and my Air Purifier can't match it. So, I see a lot of meditation in my future....

Lastly, William Thorp, the French journalist from Societie Magazine interviewed the Formans and me last weekend and we had a great time. He is seriously researching the case. Wanted Jo's tellie number, too, and he's trying to get in touch with Bill Mitchell.

Ugly smoke here also. I was going to mow the lawn but it’ll just have to wait ! Pray for all our firefighters in Oregon, Washington, Montana and of course California.

And BC - over 500 major fires there at the moment. It's their smoke that we're breathing at the moment in the Puget Sound Basin. Tonight we get our own from the Eastside as winds shift to the east. The monitoring station in Chelan - over where many of RMB's witnesses live - reported 420 this morning on the WAQA scale. Currently in Eatonville we're in the low 200s. 204 at 11 am. Last night we hit 270. Whew.

Shut- you might be the only one this week not to breathe our smoke, (maybe Jo Weber, too...). Back East monitoring stations are picking up our smoke, Montreal, etc. Even Missouri. I got one report from a MN reader in northern Minnesota that she can even smell the distinctive "campfire" aroma of a forest fire.

Note: the national smoke plume has two prongs emanating form the PNW: One goes down the Front Range of the Rockies through Colorado and is dumping smoke as far south as northern New Mexico and Texas, and it is spreading out into the midlands Nebraska and Missouri. The second fork is a much larger cloud drifting across North America until it hits Atlantic Seaboard currents, pushing smoke as far south as North Carolina. The monitoring stations in DC are registering unhealthy air. For more information: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

I'd also like to give a shout-out to all American taxpayers. The feds just announced their are putting up $2 Billion as their share to put out our flames. To me, that's just a downpayment as we need a huge arsenal of drones, helos, and tankers to douse the flames when they begin. The Cannuks are gonna have to pony up as well.
