Isn't the co-pilot of the plane 'crew'?  There are so many inconsistencies with this case.  If co-pilot could see suburbs, anybody ever ask him which side of I-5 he was coming into Portland, or better yet, where did he cross it?

The plane didn't cross I-5 until after it crossed the Columbia. this can be noted on the FBI flight path map...

I should probably put this on the 'Flight path' thread....if we assume the flight path map is accurate (or even close), and the jump time is the 8:11-8:17p range (I'm giving 4 minutes to either side if 8:13p), how does the $ 'naturally' get to Tina Bar again?

If I was going by the time frames you give, it puts the plane right at the Columbia river (splash)

We have a lot of variables here. is the timing on the map correct, is the jump time, and location correct. did Cooper survive, but lost the money near the river? did he land in the river. some claim the money came down from tributaries leading into the Columbia.

I don't know if you have seen my simulation vids, but here is one of that area, and I point things out...

Thank you for the Sim video, I will take a look at it.  The FBI map I've looked at is the one on the CitizensSleuth page.  It has times marked down along the path up to 8:11p (across from Woodland).  If you assume the speed south of Woodland is the same as the speed above it, I can't get to the river before 8:18p (8:19p following path exactly).  Of everything I've seen thus far, 8:13p seems to be the consensus 'jump time', and I haven't seen anything that puts him jumping after 8:15p.

I was just giving your numbers as example. the map shows the plane crossing at 8:17, however, the video has it crossing at around 8:18 if not mistaken. I'm currently running all 3 legs now, instead of the 3 separate legs I've been doing while learning the path.

In the past I was flying from Seattle to Toledo, this would be the first leg. then from Toledo to crossing the Lewis river would be the second leg, and finally, to the Columbia as the third.

I understand where you were coming from, and I am curious to see your sim results running all 3 legs.  Bigger picture, do you know of any reliable source that has DBC jumping later than 815p?  Because without that, I still don't see how the $ gets to Tina Bar 'naturally'.

Carr is quoted to 8:20 in one of his comments on the DZ. other than that, the plane isn't close enough to the river for a jump in that area. they are basing this on the last transmission with Cooper, which was approx. 8:05, followed by the crew stating the jump was 5-10 after this point. Georger has mentioned that the 8:05 time was not the last transmission from Cooper. I'll let Georger chime in on that part...

Also, in the transcripts they mention the last transmission being about 55 minutes from the 8:52 time?

Not sure I understand what you mean on this one...are you saying:

8:52p-55min = 7:57p

then add "5 to 10 minutes" (time between last transmission and jump), for a jump time @ 8:07p???

Sure, I'd appreciate a link to 'clean' transcripts.  From the partials I've seen, paraphrased (please correct me if I'm wrong on this): the stair light goes off in the cockpit around 8p; a couple minutes later the crew has their last communication w/ DBC, and 5-10 minutes after that, he jumped, with most things I've seen placing the jump 8:12-8:13p...

The stairs are lowered very early in the flight while at 7,000 feet. the light comes on, and stays on until they land in Reno...

Thank you for the link Shutter.  Of the numerous summaries that are out there from takeoff in Seattle to jump, it's somewhat confounding regarding the seemingly variable facts.  Did Carr ever say where he came up with 8:20p?

If  you are talking about 8:20 as a jump time, that estimate came from Sluggo who also said he thought Orchard was a viable location to search ? Thats how I remember this.

It was a quote from Carr, I think it was similar to the 5 - 10 minutes, it might of been an error on his part. I'll have to find his quote. it's not in the PDF...
