I’ll stick with my original statement ! DNA is one of the only ways to solve the Cooper caper ! I didn’t say anything about whether it would lead to a conviction ! That’s about a 200/1shot !  JMHO

If Cooper was found alive I would tend to believe a quick plea bargain would sum it all up, especially, if he had no record following the hijacking...

  Has anyone posted this yet? Just stumbled across it. No idea if it will be useful, but may be interesting at least, particularly for you airplane buffs. Apparently, the test footage was intended for test pilots and engineers back in the day. Starts in 1963.

I think DNA remains one of the only real means of solving the Cooper caper. The other could be that Cooper himself could still be alive and upon his death, he could still have a $20 ! My Mom lived to be 98 as did my wife’s Mother.

I just re-listened this old interview with FBI agent Larry Carr, he explains the DNA, partial and familial at 17:40 of audio..  "DNA can only exclude... DNA too weak for familial DNA matching... Small sample"

I just listened to this radio interview with Carr too...it is one of the best I've heard -- quite compelling, a few things there I did not know.  The moderator does not try to over-moderate or interrupt.  Carr is given freedom to explain his thoughts and theories clearly and thoroughly.  Thanks FLYJACK for the tip, I enjoyed it.

I inquired about this with a savvy criminal defense attorney who has decades of federal court trial and plea negotiation experience. He says the bomb threat makes a no time plea deal very unlikely. When violence or a credible threat of violence is involved it puts a case in a different category as far as deal ranges are concerned. AUSAs are very concerned about the “message” a deal conveys. Violence can’t be seen as excusable or deserving of leniency.

I’m not sure I agree. Cooper holds a valuable trading card: solving the only unsolved skyjack case in US history. That’s unique. His age makes a long jail sentence kind of pointless. Poor health or a terminal disease is often seen as a deciding factor in no time deals. I’m more optimistic than the lawyer I consulted with.

The tree's tell you where the location is as much as seeing the road behind it to the right..no containment pond anywhere to be seen because it's further south..

I know! But! Your eyes are so much better than mine at seeing-locating details that is why I always wanted YOU to do this! Youy identified the leaning tree behind Ingram and found that on the KATU vid - I missed that completely.

According to Crystal the location is probably down from the leaning tree closer to the water's edge - where Harold had built the campfire and the kids were playing.

That leaning tree you found is :"key".

That has to be the area. Crystal said Harold was up the incline near the trees taking a leak .... campfire near the water with the kids playing there .... she and Pat off to the north talking about the divorce.

All in the same area. Same incline where Harold can be and still has view of the kids at the water line. Near a leaning tree!

Somebody took Harold out there and he took them to the site where they drove a stake.  Right below the leaning tree. He remembered the leaning tree. So did Crystal. Brian?
