Er, Jimmy, "Coopsnoop" is generally thought to be Galen Cook, not ol' Shutter. Just to let you know....

Was it really, Bruce? Thought I might have been on to something! Galen Cook. We will talk about him later. Hope you're hanging tough, Shutter. Thanks Bruce

Based upon what you're currently seeing with the storm and power outages. and what you've experienced in the past, how much longer do you think you'll be able to post here?

For those of us who are following your adventure, it gets real scary when you're not posting. Just saying...

What do you think will go first, electricity to the house? Do you think you'll have cell service after that? Or do you think you'll probably lose everything pretty much all at the same time?

I saw one report a few hours ago that is predicting that all of Florida south of Orlando will lose power at some point this weekend, with the east coast coming back up in a matter of hours or days, while the west coast may be without power for weeks. I read one report predicting the west coast - Ft. Meyers, Naples, etc. - will need a complete re-build. That is damn serious.

Oops. Made a mistake a page back. Storm surge is predicted to be 15 feet in the sw quadrant of Florida, not 20, while rainfall is expected to be up to 20 inches. I had it backwards, it seems.

Still calm but another band is coming in the next few moments..power outages are over 50 k for Broward. It's hard to say what will go first, power vs cellphone...

I'm out back under cover..I can hear crackling of what sounds like electricity but nothing has happened. The storm is now a cat 3 ....forgot to check winds...but it's good news on this side of the coast. Made some video but can't post it..it can be found on our you tube page

Sounds like you caught another break as the storm is tracking a bit further west, reducing the storm surge on the east coast; probably wind, too.

CNN is reporting that sustained hurricane-force winds of 74 mph are hitting Key West. Reports, also, of multiple SNAFUs at evac centers on the west coast. Ug.

Got to be close to 70 now. Very small but nasty bands roll through. I can still hear cracking sounds In The distance.  It's packing  a punch but nothing that was expected when the path was our way...this will continue through the nite...this will be my last post until the morning...
