As for Google Books, I've started to explore registering the book at Reedsy, which is like Amazon's Goodreads for Google. Their registration process is even more complex than Goodreads - Ug.

I have an extra copy of Doc Edwards' book. If you would like it, I'd be happy to send it to you gratis if you send me a pre-paid mailer. Just email me: brucesmith at rainierconnect. dot com for details.

Ho, ho, ho... no.

They are for sale, though, up in Sedro Wooley, WA. Check with the real estate gal there. She told me several years ago that she is fronting for the author. No joke. If you need details, email me.

I spoke with the author back then, too. Interesting guy.

On Nov. 29th, the Amazon rankings for Bruce's book were

Best Sellers Rank: #437,928 in Books
#5,868 in True Crime (Books)
#20,821 in United States History (Books)

Today the Amazon rankings are almost twice as good...

Best Sellers Rank: #229,878 in Books (See Top 100 in Books)
#3,093 in True Crime (Books)
#9,735 in United States History (Books)

Also, notably, today's the first day I've noticed where when you search in Amazon for
DB Cooper book,
that Bruce's book shows up "above" Gray's Skyjack book.

It's still below both Edwards' book and Edwards' paid ad, but thats all. (well there's another paid ad by Armstrong also)

Amazon search history I think may understand your prior searches, so it's best to open an "incognito" window (in Chrome, say), to get a fresh look at search results at Amazon.
I'm not sure how often they update, I think more than just overnight. But definitely overnight.

If Jo Weber were alive today she'd yell "WHAT THE ? IS GOING ON" (she would try not swear)

I just checked bruce's book on Amazon. This is the highest I've seen on the Best Sellers Rank for it.
And #1751 in True Crime!
Why is there a run on his book? What does that mean about the height of diatom-infested waters off of Tena Bar?
I don't know but will find out!

Best Sellers Rank: #138,845 in Books (See Top 100 in Books)
#1,751 in True Crime (Books)
#5,639 in United States History (Books)

Snow. Was the $1 you found with the serial number from your program or code you set up to search on eBay? If so that’s great.

I may be wrong, but I’ve heard that used book sellers don’t send royalties to the authors or publishers. If so then I would not have many qualms about taking up donations buying a copy of Ha Ha and finding someone to PDF it for us here in the vortex. Max Gunther’s book is floating around on PDF. Some of the pricing on these obscure books really freezes people out.

Flyjack says he found it a year ago.
I figure it's always better to win the fight after the game, rather than the game, so I'm looking for him to say when and where we're going to throw down. Should be pretty good bum fight.

My google + program found it, so good test of what it finds.

it hits on dropzone.com and dbcooperforum posts with relevant serials. so that's good too.

There's plenty of miles for it to run before I'm dead, that is, unless Flyjack knows how to kick ass better than I predict :)
Life is risk.

was reading a review of the Edwards tome:
"My favorite chapter is titled TAKHLI, and does a great job speculating on where Cooper's specialized knowledge of 727s came from. "

Did Edwards anything not already known about Takhli?
There was some recent stuff (interviews) that came out about the Takhli stuff, but I can't imagine how Edwards spun it into anything other than random speculation?
What did he say?

If I remember correctly, Takhli is the place in Thailand where the USAF had a base. As for Edwards and Cooper, I think the good doctor started compiling a compendium of speculations on Cooper as a cargo kicker in Takhli. Shall we go find the guy's book and read up on exactly what he said?

Bruce, you and Snowmman were criticizing Dr. Edwards' book before it had even been released and neither of you had even seen it.  Bruce, what is the basis for your claim that you are a journalist? :o

Whoa, Robert. I have read Dr. Edwards' book - and I believe my criticisms are well founded. In fact, many of the deficiencies I see in his book have been also touted by others, such as on the Amazon and Goodreads book sites, where I have posted my critiques. Further, I have called his book a masterpiece here on these pages for its stellar organization and distillation of the 302s. But I have also called it uneven, and noted that it gave me a near-migraine while reading it. It's a great reference book for us researchers, but it is one hellava tough read for the average Joe.

Perhaps I should have encouraged Snowmman and myself to RE-read Doc Edwards' book to discuss Takhli. But that's too much work for too little gain in my view

As for claiming I am a journalist, I do so since I am published in multiple places and I get paid for my writing. Why do you ask?

Bruce, I am not familiar with the Goodreads book site that you mention but I am familiar with the Amazon site.

Amazon lists six reviews of Dr. Edwards' book.  Five of those reviews give it five stars and the sixth review gives it four stars.  All of those reviews were made by verified purchasers in the USA and I don't recognize any of the names.

If you have attempted to post a review of Dr. Edwards' book at Amazon, it didn't make it past Amazon's own "quality control" reviewers or else you used a new screen name. :o
