Hey Mr. diclemeg!  You say "but he is white as sliced wonder bread, with very light eyes atypical of northern Ireland.  All witnesses said Cooper was olive complexion with very dark eyes. "
I say "you are very wrong as in those days his skin was very olive like a person from Grease and we have talked about his blue eyes being covered by "cosmetic brown contact lens" as his only disguise   and is why after showing his eye color to the first Flight Attendant up close, he covered his eyes for the remainder of time with his sun glasses. That way he could remove the contact lens for all but the first of the flight."

Sheridan may have lighter skin color now but before Norjak, it was very olive.

Hey Bob, I did not know about Peterson's skin being olive at the time. Can you please elaborate on why/how, and why it would change. Was he sporting a deep tan in November?  I am not being facetious, but want to understand.

I say that at the time of Norjak, Sheridan had  an olive complexion like maybe it was his Greek ancestory showing through and not just a tan that would look different (brown vs olive). We all tend to bleach out as we get older so at this time Sheridan may look whiter.

I do recall reading somewhere that one of the witnesses had said it appeared Cooper was wearing skin makeup as to appear darker, but I cannot find that info anymore, nor know if its true.

FBI Agent Larry Carr addressed that specific point on DropZone.  Carr stated that the stews who spent hours with Cooper and had the opportunity to observe him at close range stated that Cooper was NOT wearing makeup.

That was Gregory? Do the particles on the tie suggest or prove makeup? Tom has never said?  :(

How much would new dredge material dig into and displace existing beach structure?

Could the material dropped on Tena Bar in 74 have displaced money already there? To what depth?

And how would you distinguish something older from something newer, five years later?

 :)

I don't think it would do anything. they simply placed the sand over the existing area.

my guess would be that you would have to have samples of sediments for each year in question to determine when certain deposits were placed on the shoreline. I did find that a sample of the riverbed was taken right in front of T-bar and is very close to the layer above the dredge layer Palmer identifies in the chart that you have provided several times in the past. if not mistaken it was taken from mile marker 98? the Fazio's are known for good quality sand, and they get it right off T-bar..

It's possible the money was on the beach before the spoils, but they would have to remove all the new material to expose the original shoreline. since the spoils could be seen for several years after the fact, it's hard to say whether or not they went underneath the spoils when they moved, or spread the material..the placement of the spoils tell me that lots of material went right back into the river being so close to the shoreline. I tend to believe it flooded a large portion of the area's surrounding the spoils.

After thinking things over, I have decided to get new rubber bands. I just don't trust these that I have, and Tom said his are also questionable, they are 10 years old now. I have contacted Alliance about getting the same bands.

Why not use both? Put a new one on along with what you already have.

While on this subject. would anyone be interested in a commemorative type of plaque from Tina bar? I was thinking of putting some sand into small corked bottles onto a wood base with some sort of plate explaining what it is? (see photo) I would like to give them out to the valued members of this forum in appreciation of making this thread continue to be valuable to researching the DB Cooper case? all I would ask for is a small shipping fee of I believe $4.95? I'm making one for myself for sure...

I made a mockup seen below..

Meyer Louie will be sending me the sand. I'll make about 10 of them and see how it goes...I haven't figured out exactly what I want to put on the face of it yet...still in the R&D department :D :D

It will also come with a Certificate Of Authenticity  C:-)
