Is Carr still with the FBI?

When you say "legal hang ups", that makes it sound like Carr actually wants to attend. Am I correct in that assumption?

I hope Eric is able to pull Tina. I have my doubts, but I'm the ultimate pessimist anyway. I'd love to be wrong on that one.

It is my understanding that Larry Carr is still with the FBI in some manner, and living in the PNW. Other than getting a "friend request" from him on Facebook, that's all I know. He has never responded to any messages I send him on Fb.

Maybe Galen can wrangle LC to the conference. They used to have a pretty strong relationship and Galen is considering attending CC21.

Apparently, though, LC would need approval from the Bureau to attend.

You call her, 57. I've pressed my luck with Tina as far as I think prudent.
You know Bruce, all joking aside, she IS the most important piece of this entire puzzle at this very late stage of the game.  Yet,  I DO NOT SEE HER ON THE GUEST LIST AT THE BIG EVENT YOU ALL HAVE SCHEDULED!!!! If she is, my apologies.   She is the one you need. She is the one that can help solve this now more than anyone. No good DNA. Where is the idiot that lost the cigarettes?  Without any good DNA you need either the money, or something like the brief case and not even one of the parachutes out in weather for half a century is of any use any more.  TINA MUCKLOW. She is the key.  And Flo Shafner would not hurt.  But Tina spent 5 hours with him. One podcast, the one I like, infamous America, says he even had a cigarette with him after quitting.  She developed a type of "hostage and kidnapper" type of bond with him. If only you could get her to sit down and listen to all of the top suspects.  To either finger them or eliminate them.  You do not tell her which one she is listening to. Its kind of like a police lineup but with voices instead of faces.  You make sure the first one is someone that is not relevant to make sure the test is clean so to speak. Then you try to gather tapes of those like Rackstraw, Reca, Peterson, Christianson, Weber, McCoy, etc and use only words that we know Cooper spoke. Like "looks like" when he said "looks like Tacoma down there".  You go through them. If one of them makes her jump out of her chair, you have a hit. If not, you can pretty much bet that none of them are the real DB, which is the likely case. But its one more step to solving this.  TINA MUCKLER.   She is soooooo important in this. She is the only one living that "knew him".  A voice recognition is better than a psychic looking at this IMO.  Is she unwilling to talk to anyone or just pissed at you?
If you have any tapes of them saying "no funny stuff" or something that was one of those unforgettable phrases by him, it would help. Now I know some will attack me and say, its been too long.  Studies have been done, and yes I studied Psychology and did very well in it. You probably know about ones where they stimulated parts of the brain and memories have been resurrected after years .  RECALL.  That is the key. Its not out of the realm that Tina could be stimulated into a recall event if she heard HIS VOICE.  Thats all.  Carry on.

Sounds like you're developing a crush on Tina, too, 57. Join the club! ...Smile.
Sure, her Florence or the other girl that is rarely mentioned.  But I do believe that to solve this without the use of science, Tina is the only hope.  IF, he is still alive?  If not, she could ID his voice?  Worth a shot. Anything is worth a shot at this point.

Things are about to get interesting given that the FOIA request I made with Sheridan Peterson's oldest son to obtain the DNA comparison test results  between Sheridan and DBC has been approved. My experience is that we'll hear something in a couple of weeks.

I expect a result of "inconclusive" which would be damning. At that point I believe you've got your man.

We shall see.

The DNA was taken from the tie, correct?

I don't see how "inconclusive" means conclusive...

If the FBI only has a few markers, then it's likely a sizable plurality of the population will match.

The stories on the handling of the tie are not good ones. it's hard to say how many people handled the tie, including wearing it. I'd like to believe they possibly have a partial but given the evidence of how the ties was protected, or unprotected causes concern.

The ties still holds hope for our research but I doubt it would enter a court room. a lawyer only needs one person stating the tie was handled with no gloves....poof, goes the DNA...

Thinking further, I guess if a match occurred it would be submitted..

P(A:B)=[P(B:A)P(A)] รท P(B)

Back in 2001 the FBI was working with 13 DNA locations. They did not get results for all 13 locations with DBC. I do know the number of locations they got.

Also, there were multiple donors. Therefore, some locations have DNA markers (numbers) for more than one person.

If a suspect comes along and does not match all X number of locations the FBI has then this person cannot be DBC.

On the other hand, if a suspect comes along and does match all X number of locations then this person cannot be eliminated. Importantly, this person cannot be confirmed as DBC because some locations have more than one person's DNA and they cannot separate the DNA samples.

So, an "inconclusive" result shows that the person cannot be eliminated, but also not verified.

Now the odds of a random person matching all X number of locations is difficult to determine--I have discussed this with a DNA expert. However, the odds are still thin and likely well under 1%.

If Sheridan matches to 1%, That still leaves a ton of people who would also test positive. Odds would still be a false positive.

That is correct. Moreover, you are not going to convict anyone based upon 1 in 100 or even 1 in 1000 odds. But the odds are the odds.

That said, considering all of the other evidence I would be mathematically convinced you've got your guy. Indeed, the overwhelming odds would point to Sheridan.

We will see.

Bayesian probability is a cruel lover.

Sheridan was not listed as an "unresolved suspect" in FBI documents dating to 2004, so that's also of note.
