Making the World Safe for Democracy

I think it's great that we vote on how we talk about women!

As such, I continue to uphold "Twisty Butt" as my favorite moniker for Marla. To begin with, the girl's got it, and she works it. She knows it, and she never lets it rest. I saw her in action at the Ariel Tavern and it was um, exceptional. I so admire an artisan at work. Did you see the smile on Tom Kaye's face? Dee-lightful. I took a pix of it, in case you missed. Check the MN; it's posted there.

I'm not alone about that admiration, either - four ex-husbands and one non-marriage husband that she left an actual husband for, since the BF was the father of one of her kids, are proof. Now, reuniting boys and their dads is something that I respect immensely, even if on a temporary basis since the other boys need to be with their dads, too. But ya gotta admit that's a lot of squirmin' if not downright twistin'.

Plus, Marla has put a TON o' words into Curtis Eng's mouth. Did he actually say that he was utterly convinced that Uncle LD is DB Cooper? Did he actually say that he was going to close the case since he was convinced LD was DB? Maybe he did. Maybe he didn't. But Marla said that he did, and makes her a twisty Mouth at the very least, especially since Curtis refused to speak up for himself. Nor did anyone else in the entire FBI stand up and defend their man. Shame on Them, too, if Marla lied about Curtis.

Twist and Shout, I always say. Marla's my gal, even if I am not her man.

During a Vets meeting years ago we had a fairly young guy walk in and introduce himself as having served in the "Revolutionary" War. We all kind of looked at each other. Gary, next to me started to snicker under his breath. I put my elbow into his ribs. He elbowed me back. Almost in unison the whole group started to laugh out loud. A biker vet jumped up and was across the room before we could intervene and now he has this guy by the neck lifting the guy up off the floor. I was laughing so hard I couldn't move a muscle to help ... the counselor ran to her office to call the police.  We went through that shit about five times in the two years we had that group. It surprised me how opinion split. Some were in favor of giving the 'pretenders' slack, some wanted them taken out and ... and some were too inside themselves and dealing with serious problems to care one way or the other. You run into everything at one time or another. It's all in a day's work.

How do y'all feel about vets from the Civil War? I have recurring dreams that I was killed at Shiloh as a member of a Texas infantry regiment.

By the way, would that make me a "hero?" Does it matter what side you fight on? Kenny was a hero for being a US paratrooper in WW II, correct? How about the Japanese soldiers who were willing to kill him in defense of their homeland? Or is that just too complicated? Just askin'...As Georger has told us, vets can get touchy about this stuff. The guy who freaked in Georger's group when a guy showed up as a Revolutionary War vet, and he probably wasn't British!  Yikes!!!

How come the vast majority of reincarnation/past lives stories have the person being historically important or part of a noteworthy event (like Shiloh)?

Where are the past lives stories about Army cooks who never left the US or Navy shore based quartermasters who never saw battle? Or commoners who dug ditches?

Everyone was royal, noteworthy or otherwise of historic merit in their prior lives.

Looks like my motion is losing.  I wasn't proposing a ban on free speech, just trying to get folks thinking. I'll call her Marla. You guys can call her whatever you choose.
She certainly owned the room at the Portland Symposium, I'll give her that.  ;)

My more obvious moments of military service are what stand out for me, 377. I'm sure I've cleaned plenty of toilets and latrines, too, besides cooking in the mess.

One thing that does stand out for me, though, is how few memories I have of being a woman. That surprises me, especially since I'm so sensitive....

I just noticed that I am registered here at the Forum as a "Hero Member." Not sure what it means, but I thought it worth mentioning.

One thing for sure, Jo didn't nominate you as a hero Bruce. To her you are and will always remain Bruce the Killer. It's so bizarre. I cant convince her otherwise.

Investigative feet on the street journalists are heroes to me, so wear the title proudly Bruce.

The EINSTEIN of criminal investigation. The Unified Theory. One particle, the Morris Muon. It can account for everything.

And talk about distracted driving. Good thing he was on a rural lightly traveled road.

And those edits, insertion of text graphics amidst the self interview while driving. Oscar material.😉

Case closed.
