Colored contacts were introduced in 1981 by CIBA.  So nobody was altering their eye color on a plane in 1971.

I read on this forum somewhere that people could tint their contacts back then, who knows if that happened in the Cooper case?

yes, I believe they could but it's unlikely and pretty much old news...it was pushed a lot by a former member here that everyone liked (Sailshaw) who died not long ago..

Appreciate the update Shutter, and sorry to hear about Sailshaw.  Thank you for approving my request to join the forum.
I've been fascinated with this case for years.  Although I was born in 1972, I remember hearing about it as far back as the late 70's.  I have some pretty strong theories about it.

Bring on those strong theories! We are armor plated here - a little bit.  On Tuesdays and Thursdays, between the hours of 8am and 3pm.

Sailshaw inaccuracies.

I’ve been corresponding with Cooper sleuth Eric Ulis who, using dates, found a likely hole in Sailshaw’s account of his interactions with short term tenant Sheridan Peterson.

Sailshaw claimed that during the time Sheridan Peterson roomed in his place, that Sheridan grilled him about 727 air stairs. Sheridan has adamantly insisted that this account was a lie.

Sheridan was Sailshaw’s tenant in 1961. The 727 design was not finished then as far as I can tell. Also Sailshaw claims to have told Sheridan that he, Sailshaw, wasn’t working on the 727 but rather the 737 air stairs (built for Alaska Airlines). This seems impossible in 1961.

737 design history from Google:

“Boeing wanted a true short-haul jet to compete with the Caravelle, BAC One-Eleven & DC-9 but was way behind them. The DC-9 was about to fly, the One-Eleven was well into its flight test program and the Caravelle had been in service for 5 years. They had some catching up to do. Designers Joseph Sutter and Jack Steiner began work on the 737 in November 1964.

The original 1964 specification was for a capacity of about 60-85 passengers, an economical operating range of between 100 and 1000 miles and to be able to break even at a 35% load factor. As a result of final design talks with launch customer Lufthansa the capacity was increased to 100, but the range and load factor figures still stand.”

More old guys with fogged memories and an obsessive-compulsive edge. Just what the Cooper case needs!

More types in the Cooper chase than there ever were hippies in Haight-Ashbury.

People who stare at goats and know their names and their family trees! One has a detective watching this site looking for an opening to bring us down!  Its one helluva a way to live!

2015 sailshaw writes

You say"Sheridan Peterson might have had access since he worked in technical documentation at Boeing, a job he took after being unable to get 727 airstair info from his landlord Sailshaw."

I say Sheridan knew about the 727 aft airstair test rig in the old B-29 hanger on the East side of Boeing field. Ir was part of the 727 FCTR Flight Control Test Rig and was fully functional and available to anyone with a Boeing badge like Sheridan had. I know I told him about the test rig as he was quite interested in the 727 airstairs

2012

I would like to add that Sheridan was living at my house in Seattle for one month and about ten years before NORJACK. This was when his planning was just getting started and the 727 was on the horizon as a jumpable plane complete with Aft Airstairs.

From Boeing's website

On Dec. 5, 1960, Boeing announced the three-engine 727, with 40 orders each from launch customers United Airlines and Eastern Air Lines.

doesn't sound right...

See photo below from PDF file, it does state the first order was in 1960 and the design started in 1959

Brown contacts were reported to have been used by FBI infiltrators into the American Indian Movement (AIM) in 1972. Might be one of the reasons the FBI insisted on a DNA sample from Sheridan Peterson who has blue eyes. The FBI obviously didn’t trust brown eyes as a way to rule out Cooper suspects.

What really doesn’t fit known facts is Sail allegedly telling Sheridan in 1961 that he was working on 737 airstairs not 727 and therefore couldn’t help him.

Does it make sense that Sheridan in 1969 would be obsessed with jumping from a plane that hadn’t been built yet?
I guess it’s possible but seems very unlikely to me.

I don't believe that the information in that link is accurate.
