So, I got a weird facebook friend request over the weekend: Norman DeWinter.

If that name sounds familiar it should. According to Colbert, that's the name Rackstraw used when posing as a rich baron shortly before assuming the role of Dan Cooper.

Anyone else get the same request?

Got the same request. I accepted it, now just waiting for the fallout...

As did I. I’d bet it’s Derek as well.

Yep. I damn sure don't need that drama on my social media pages.

Derek's behavior is becoming problematic again? Sigh.

New theory:

Cooper is the modern Job and was swallowed by a whale immediately after landing in the Columbia.

Another New Theory:

DB Cooper is an Extra-Terrestrial and got himself beamed up with the money, chutes, bomb, and both bags of money. Hence, no trace of him exists. Therefore, we need an ET dimension to the Norjak investigation

Bruce,

I didn't want to continue to hijack (pun intended) the CooperCon thread with another music video, so I figured I'd post it here instead. But this is another one that you may or may not have heard. It's not completely accurate in parts, but who knows, overall it may be more accurate than we realize...

Parrot, we cannot have too many songs about Danny Boy. Keep 'em coming. Please.
Consider this one added to the play list - even though the many inaccuracies made my skin twitch.

Bruce. Here is an unusual version of a DB Cooper song. Kind of Ramones-Iggy Pop. NYC maybe a little after your time. I have the cd and can get the lyrics if you want. The newscast opening is cool. It’s got a good beat.

The singers name is Cyclope Espion. Good guy. I think he played for the Ramones on a road band or something once. Song is DB Cooper. Basically the guy says “F it” one night and pulls a DB Cooper. Like we all sometimes would want to. It’s a great song to run to.

Maybe we should start a DB Cooper Cover band?

Great refrain:

...One Year, they can't find me...
...Twenty Years, they can't find me...
... Thirty Years, they can't find me...
... Living or dead... they can't find me...

... Some times a man's just gotta go, away from everything and everyone... Just like DB Cooper on a rainy night... they can't find me...

Castle, I'm lovin' this song. Can you find the lyrics? I couldn't, but I got another DBC song from the "Senses Fail," but those lyrics are obtuse.

Here you go Bruce.

There’s a coffee mug on the counter
The water is running in the sink
I don’t think I ever told her (them)
And now I know I never will
I left the lights on in the hallway
The TV sings in the living room
I don’t think that anything has changed

The mail is piling at the door
And grass is growing in the yard
No need to respond anymore
I think that it’ll be alright
I left a black tie behind me
That’s all they’ll ever get to know
I hope they’ll get the irony
Sometimes a man just gotta go
Just gotta go, away from everything (everyone)

Just like D.B. Cooper on a rainy night
I took a plane, I won’t look back
I thought I found two parachutes
In the shape of your eyes

Just like D.B. Cooper
Such a quiet night
I took a flight, I won’t be back
& they’ll be looking at the wrong place
At the wrong time

One year, they can’t find me
20 years they can’t find me
30 years they can’t find me
Living or dead they won’t find me

Thanks, Castle. Where did you find the lyrics? Or did you spend 40 gadzillion hours transcribing it?

Any chance you came across the chords? It's sounds like a basic G-C-D.

I got the lyrics from the singer. He sent me the CD too. We connected a few years back. Not sure on chords, but I can let him know you’re interested if you’d like and give him your email.

Please do. I tried reaching him via his website, and also tried to purchase the CD, but was unable.

How'd you guys connect? He's a Frenchman living in NYC.
