My apologies Shutter. What a great find. It turned me around big time. FINALLY, clear images of currency shards and verification of their location and distribution.

I love it when evidence is presented that makes me change my mind about some aspect of the case. The footage you found sure did.

I respect TC for all that he has uncovered in the DB Cooper case, especially the FBI 302's, and in some measure getting the HC docu off the ground. I generally hold the view that what he was considering to be his documentary on Cooper was actually hijacked by the FBI and the HC to advance their own agendas, most notably closing the case in a comfy-cozy way. Thus I call Tom Colbert a passionate researcher of Norjak.

But first and foremost he is a showman. He is Our Man in Hollywood.

We really owe TC for his tenacity in pursuing the FBI FOIA requests. He is relentless.

You said the same thing about Robert M Blevins, Grey Cop, Geoff Gray, and many others, and you see where that got everyone?

You have an uncanny ability to confuse motion and media flurry with progress! It's all good! - Well, no it isn't!    :nono:

So far, none of these 'Cooperpreneurs' has produced 'one God damned thing' of real value in the DB Cooper case. Meanwhile the case gets older and more confused with every passing day. So far the Narcissists have beaten everyone in the solution of this case!

Couldn't agree with you more, Georger.

I've been looking over my rigs closely and the coarse weave of the TC material just doesn't seem to match what I see on various civilian and military parachute rigs I own. My NB8 looks like it is made of 100% synthetic fibers. I don't have any Cordura rigs and it normally has a coarser weave than nylon.

I do, however, have a dim memory of somewhat coarse woven cotton/canvas materials on some older rigs used in non load bearing portions like flaps and covers.

From USPA website:

Container Fabric
There are several fabric types used in the manufacture of sport containers of today. They are generally divided into two categories: Parapac and Cordura. Certainly there is a sub difference of the base types. That sub division is usually defined by denier. military containers used a 420 denier Mil-Spec C-7219 Parapac. This fabric is specifically designed for use in parachute containers. There are deniers less than 420 available and they should be avoided except for decorative purposes. Cordura has proven to be a popular and durable fabric for use in containers in spite of it’s excess weight. Theoretically, Cordura is more ultraviolet resistant because the coarseness of the material casts a larger shadow protecting it from ultra-violet deterioration.

There are several types of webbing used in the manufacture of personnel delivery harnesses. To understand the choices requires a little history lesson. Originally, harnesses were made of cotton webbing. During this era hardware was designed for use with the cotton webbing. We use the very same hardware today. When nylon was invented, it became apparent that nylon was infinitely better than cotton for use in most applications, especially personnel harnesses. Rather than retool the hardware, the nylon was then configured to be compatible with the hardware. The resultant product was 7000 lb. tensile, Type 13 harness webbing, identified by a black edge trace. At the same time Type 8 (Black Center Line, 4000 lb. tensile), and Type 6 (Red Center Line, 2500lb Tensile) were designed to be used with the Type 13 in a supplemental roll, where involvement with hardware and exposure to environmental hazards were not a concern. Additionally, Type 7 (Yellow edge trace, 6000 lb. tensile) was introduced at that time for use in cargo delivery, where no interaction with personnel hardware would occur. Some sport manufacturers have adapted this weaker webbing (Type 7) for use in sport harnesses. While strength has been a minor issue with this application, it does slip in the hardware and won’t hold proper adjustment.

Rig back pack foam:

from USPA website:

Comfort Pads
There are two kinds of foam used in comfort pads -- closed cell and open cell. Most manufacturers use open cell foam that they buy at the carpet store. Buy a rig that uses closed cell athletic padding that will float and not absorb water.
*******************************************************************
Harness comfort pads:

I also recall smaller fabric encased foam pads that were attached to harness webbing to cushion the impact of metal fittings during opening and descent. The pics in this current eBay listing illustrate some of these.

Colbert and the Dig at La Center

Since Tom seems to be actively seeking evidence at the Hot Spot in La Canter, I have been endeavoring to find out what is going on. I appreciate the bits and pieces that get posted here, such as the pix, but there is much more to learn. As a result I have begun to reach out to members of the CCT team. Only one has responded so far, John Bocciolott, the retired Portland PD cop.

I get loud and clear from Bocciolott that Colbert's operation is strictly a proprietary venture. This may be obvious to some here, but it wasn't so clear to me as it is now. What we have unfolding in La Center is DB Cooper Inc.

Nevertheless, Bocciolott tried to frame his non-response to me as a law enforcement officer who is conducting an active investigation and can't comment on anything until it is concluded. Then he threw is a parting shot that suggested Colbert's numerous attorneys could explain it further if I still had any doubts. So, I asked him to please have the lawyers get in touch!

BTW: I am having trouble accessing this forum via my standard Firefox browser. Anyone else having trouble? I finally got through via Internet Explorer.

Bruce,

I've had no problems accessing the site using Chrome.

TC has spent a lot of money sleuthing Norjack/Rackstraw. I don't begrudge him trying to make a buck and sometimes that necessitates not putting the whole story into the public domain leaving nothing to sell. Yes, it becomes "DBC Inc" in a sense, but look at how much he has shared publically. I think he strikes a decent balance.

Sometimes its fun being surprised by the Hollywood production that had some parts cloaked during fact gathering and production. Who ever thought we'd see a Tina Mucklow, Sheridan Peterson or MJ Fryar interview? I was amazed.

Bruce, it's sounds like you have visitors on your browser (hijacked)...dump your cookies, and do a boot scan if you know how to do that...a boot scan runs prior to windows opening on your computer....lots of things hide that a regular scan won't detect...also empty the cache on Firefox...

Boot scan? Just shined em for tomorrow's jumps.

Shutter sounds like an old DOS hand, if he is old enough to be one.  ;)

Jumping tomorrow at Tracy CA. Temps forecasted to hit 105F. Ugh...

But it should be a cool 90-95 degrees at 14,000 feet, no?

Currently a wonderful 75 degrees in Cooper Country, not a cloud in the sky...ahhh...

...and no smoke, too!

Boot Scan

If you suspect that your PC contains malware, Antivirus allows you to schedule a Boot-time Scan to run the next time your computer boots up. It scans for known types of malware and removes threats before the operating system and other services are running.
