Yep, and if the file says 144 pages, it's really only about 70 due to multiple copies....

Haha yup that's another thing I've noticed. Still some very fascinating stuff in there. Like the guy pretending to be a movie script writer and asking the cockpit crew about how to drop something out of an airplane .... two weeks before NORJAK? Pretty neat stuff.

Any ideas on why they would go so overboard on the redactions?

It's the Government  C:-) same for sending full pages redacted....no purpose..

Reason? Do they need a reason?  ;)  It's that control thing. When you are MacDonalds and own the whole buffalo herd, you must hand out the herd one burger at a time. It's economics of herd management to assure future employment!  :))

Imagine if schools taught mathematics one symbol or number at a time with lots of redactions in between. It would take education 10,000 years to teach just addition and subtraction. Since institutions live 10,000 years it works. Parents and children only have 77 years - they have to go faster and leave out a lot in between. The Cooper case is following :)) the same example for the same reasons. Add to that nobody knows what the Cooper numbers are! The Cooper case may outlive our species and be settled by some highly evolved creature or thing for entertainment some 20,000 years from now, while sailing to the next galaxy to sell hamburgers?

Liked your post G!  ;)

I do think the Cooper mystery will be solved some day. Call me optimistic, naive, whatever.

Here is a long standing radio mystery that was just solved by careful methodical science. ET fans will not like the result. Many have thought that this so called WOW radio signal (which did not originate on Earth) was proof positive that ET intelligent beings existed and that they used radio waves for communications. Turns out it was just hydrogen farts from comets passing nearby.

Well, I presume that first, it'll take open-mindedness from all the active armchair sleuths, absence of pride, vanity, and overcome dogma...

Hello I’m a long time lurker and follower of the DB Cooper Case.  By no means am I an expert nor claim to be one in regards to the specifics of the high jacking.  However what I can tell you is over the years I have read / interpreted many of the experts on the world wide web and discovered many of them seem to have very little understanding of the Columbia River and the surrounding terrain.  Some time ago an individual presented a story in which a man strolled out of the woods with a wounded knee and ended up slumped over near a small grocer in Carson Washington (or something close to that effect).  Now I don’t believe the story for a bit but what I did find surprising was the fact Bruce Smith stated he had to google where Carson WA was.  To be honest I was surprised at Bruce’s post.  Carson was most certainly in the realm of possibility and a long time Cooper investigator apparently was not familiar with the area.  I began to realize most folks on these forums have done most of their research from a sitting position directly in front of their computer.  Now before anybody gets defensive or upset this is no knock on anyone, frankly the computer is probably the best investigative tool society currently has.  Bruce Smith and I are on the complete opposite sides of spectrum but I absolutely enjoy his take and research on the case.  I like the outside of the box thinking and it’s a must because 46 years later this crime is still unsolved.
I’m an avid trapper / hunter & fisherman and spent 5 years of my life pounding the Washougal & Lewis river basins along with the Columbia River itself (hunting and fishing only as trapping is prohibited in Washington).  The greatest miss-understanding in my opinion on these website’s is the Tina Bar money find.  Folks seem to infatically and with great confidence state things about the money that are just straight up false in regards to how the money may or may have not ended up resting on the shores of the Columbia.  I constantly read things like Cooper must have died very close to the money find as there is no other way the money could have been found in the vicinity.  Or the other popular statement is the flight path is wrong.  As sure as I’m sitting here today that money is really no mystery to me.  I tend to believe the original drop zone is most likely the accurate one but I also won’t rule out the following tributaries:
Lewis River
East Fork Lewis
Washougal
Kalama
Coweeman
Toutle
And frankly several others however I believe above mentioned are the best bets
With that being said I will take my experience over to the Tina Bar thread.  And hopefully give a better understanding of the Columbia River to some folks who have never been on its banks so they can make judgement for themselves.

I look forward to seeing your thoughts on this matter.  Please include any information that you may have so that people who have been at Tina Bar and are familiar with it and the surrounding area can see the error of their ways, if such exists.

Has anyone ever put a numbered ping pong ball in these tributaries (or a log from a tree), and had it turn up at Tina Bar? Or anywhere even close to Tina Bar?

Do you work on VW's?

I certainly welcome you and look forward to your insights. I just don't believe that many of the rivers you mention however could have come into play as they are far too North Of where he could have jumped. The placard find is a factual location that I find hard to dispute unless you believe it was a made up story.

I too welcome your insights into the baffling conundrums of Tina Bar.  I have spent lots of time at Tina Bar -- probably as much as anyone here - and Kermit, like you, has lived, worked, and played in the area around Tina Bar as well for most of his life.  Locals always know an area better than anyone else, that's why I like talking to them.  I listen to Kermit with great interest as he talks about the realities of the Columbia River -- realities that most people would not be aware of if they did not live there.  I'm sure your insights will be beneficial as well.

I am curious as to how you think tributaries other than the Washougal could have come into play.  I have always tried to keep an open mind, I'm always reluctant to get all gah-gah about any one theory.
