Yes - lots of cool tidbits. Lockheed buying Russian titanium through a CIA shell corporation? Love it!!!

Actually, it was the CIA buying the titanium for the project...

Lockheed has been around since 1912..they were originally, Loughead Aircraft manufacturing company changing in 1926 to Lockheed Corporation...

If you watched this video above, the guy had the moon circle him 4 times...he touched on a lot of things you mentioned..I still like the glasses you wear at area 51...they only allow you to see the ground in front of you...

The only difference in the A12 was length..it was something like 12 feet shorter...

The A-12 was also single place and there were other differences.  Take a look at the noses.

A really long time ago, I can't remember when, where, or why, I worked about 300 feet across the ramp from an SR-71 operation.  As far as we knew, those guys weren't doing any spying, but it was not at all unusual to see one of their aircraft parked outside their hangar about daybreak (flight test people go to work before sunrise on flying days) and within a few minutes the crew would arrive and be "inserted" into the airplane by their life support people.

Then the airplane would take off and disappear.  Somewhere around noon, the airplane would return and pull up in front of its hangar.  The crew would shut the engines down, pop their canopies, and stand up in the cockpit and start taking those pressure suits off right there.  Those pressure suits apparently weren't overly comfortable.

On the SR-71 fuel matter, these particular aircraft were refueled from a tanker truck that had "JP-4" painted on its side in letters that were about five feet high.  But it was common knowledge that it wasn't JP-4 in that tanker truck.  Also, the SR-71 would take off with only a partial load of fuel due to center-of-gravity considerations.  They would have to take on a full load of fuel fairly soon after take off and ever one and one-half hours after that.  On a twelve hour flight, that would require six or more aerial refuelings.

Looks like the A 12 was faster and had a higher service ceiling than the SR 71.

I usually take the Sawgrass expressway home. took me an extra 45 minutes because everyone slowed down to catch a glimpse of the school that can be seen from the highway...taking the turnpike home today...dozens of media tents in front of the school..

February 14, 1929 use to be the news for years (Valentine's Day Massacre) 7 lives lost on the day & year...

I'm impressed that the students are beginning to speak up about being protected from gun violence. This is a new political dynamic and greatly welcomed. However, I'm still skeptical that any restrictions will be imposed on AR-15s, bump stocks, et. al. because so many folks want these military weapons since they are anticipating going to war in the near future, such as against the USG, liberals, jihadists, etc.

Despite feeling numb to yet another mass shooting, I still wept seeing the pix of the kids today...

The guns don't walk into schools and start shooting themselves. In society we are taking God out of everything, and glorifying violence.  Society needs to change to stop the violence that is happening. Just my 2 cents.

Bruce echoed something I said the other day. I told my wife and her father, that after a while you just get numb to it, it happens all too often. And that is very very sad. I'm not going to get political, because we don't need to do that here. But I will say this: It's time, past time actually, that someone start shooting back at these bastards. I hope there is a special place in hell for the piece of shit that did this.

I agree with most of the above..one of the major problems overlooked is how children are raised today vs decades ago..lots of entitlement, and tantrums when they don't get what they want..I grew up having to earn things, and respect my parents..I couldn't even think of raising my voice to my parents...

It appears granny has become a hero stopping yet another mass killing...explosives involved this time...going to ban those too? they will achieve there goal no matter the obstacle..when someone is overweight do you ban forks, or sugar? he's still going to get what he wants...a shooting occurs and they blame the gun...a drunk driver takes out a family and they blame the driver, not the alcohol? DUI after DUI, and yet he still gets behind the wheel...people that do these shootings will do they same...very hard to stop them...

how did prohibition work out...not good...

Guns date back hundreds of years, and yet even in the "wild west" it had no mass killings for the hell of it in schools, or churches...everyone had guns when I was growing up...very common seeing them in windows of trucks. they were respected...today, not much respect for anything with the younger generation. not all of them, but enough to cause a problem..

I don't know much about this kid, but he sort of reminds me of the guy who killed Lennon..all for fame. this is a sickness that might not be visible until it's too late. it will probably take this kid a couple years to really understand what he did...he will PC up in prison (protective custody) by the looks of him, he wouldn't last a day in population. we will continue to pay for his mistake for decades to come though.. >:( eye for an eye IMO with this case...

This hit me pretty hard being so close to home and actually seeing the school..I don't have an answer, but it has to start with the youngsters.

We've got to do something. The present plan is not working, and I've had a couple thoughts - and I know this is the DB Cooper Forum and political/gun violence discussions are far afield - but perhaps a few thoughts shared among friends...

1. Banning assault weapons does work for other countries and might work in the USA, too.
2. Register militias and allow them unrestricted access to all the military ordnance they want except the really scary stuff like, RPGs, 50 cals, C-4 compounds, etc. Insist that militias regulate and supervise their members and the use of their weaponry.
3. Support groups for the weird people among us, like AA for alcoholics or anger management for wife beaters. Kids like Cruz, who cause trouble and are known to the cops, get expelled, kill pets and love guns would be mandated to attend regular groups. Cruz was troubled, and he became an orphan last November when his mother died - his father died a few years ago - and a neighbor took him in. He clearly needed more than that.

Try being a newspaper reporter, Shut. In 2010, my last year with the Pierce County Dispatch I covered 11 homicides - and all this was out "in the country where it's safe..." I also covered directly or indirectly 7 cop killings, from 2006 to 2010, including the  massacre of the "Parkland Four." (Not Parkland, FL, but Parkland, WA - all Lakewood, WA cops on a before-shift weekend coffee klatch). I'm pretty Zen about it, but as I ride around town I think - oh, that's the street were Brian and Beverly Mauck were killed, wonder how their families are doing..."

Banning weapons is not the answer...you really believe they will stop? it's a sickness that has nothing to do with the weapon. they will use what ever weapon they can get there hands on and people like you will keep banning them until they are all gone...they will find a way to reach the goal...you are dreaming...

"bad guy" oh crap, AR-15/AK etc. is gone...I guess i'll just go home" ?

You bust a drug dealer...they find another..(sickness)
One bar closes, and another is open around the corner..(sickness)

different countries have different cultures and a lot less people...some countries cut off your hands for stealing...should we follow them? should all of the women cover there faces in public...seems to work in other countries, no?

start looking at the person behind the gun vs looking only at the gun...it's very tragic every time this happens, but it has a lot to do with how the person was brought up...

Florida is full of the most vile people in the country IMO..they cut you off in traffic and want to fight over something that was there fault? the same people honking at you for going fast in a school zone will mow you down in a parking lot that actually has children mixed in with the traffic?
Chicago has very strict gun laws, hows that working out?

I can see this heading nowhere, so I will be removing the comments soon...
