Why are Broward and Palm Beach excluded from FEMA help? Not enough structural damage?

That appears to be the case..this storm didn't "flatten" Broward county. it shouldn't be considered a "State Of Emergency" if a tree hits your house you should have insurance handle it, not FEMA. they show up when entire communities have been destroyed, or a lot of structural damage has occurred. they were everywhere when Wilma hit..lots more damage was done.

Now, if your insurance company hits you with the old "act of god" you might want to seek help through FEMA..

It also appears Trump over ruled them

South Floridians who need help recovering from Hurricane Irma will be eligible for individual assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency after the Trump administration reversed an earlier decision that excluded the region’s residents receiving the aid.

The decision came Monday night, hours after a bipartisan group of South Florida members of Congress said the region’s recovering from Irma could be hindered by the FEMA decision to exclude Broward and Palm Beach counties.

President Donald Trump’s “major disaster declaration” on Sept. 10 included all 67 Florida counties on the list of eligible counties for public assistance. At first, only nine counties — including Miami-Dade — were included on the list of eligible counties for individual assistance. Now the list includes 16 counties.

News: Some time ago Galen Cook informed me that the Director of the FBI was contacting him to get information about people who post on Cooper forums.

Does Cook's colleague Bruce Smith confirm this?

Does the FBI (or SA Eng) share personal information about us with Cook?

 ???

QUESTIONS:

1.  Which Director of the FBI?

2.  Are we suppose to take the above as a compliment or should we lawyer up? ???

3.  Has anyone on this site, including Bruce Smith, actually met Galen Cook or heard of him previously?

4.  If the answer to 3, above, is affirmative, was that person employed by Cook?

5.  Assuming the FBI Director did in fact ask Cook for such information, what qualifies him as an "expert" (I just LOVE that word!) on anyone else here?  Remember that just about ever outside "expert" the FBI relied on during the original investigation screwed things up royally. :(

6.  Has SA Eng read any FAA publication on aircraft navigation?  The FAA has such publications available for free downloading on their web page, and I highly recommend them.

7.  What are Cook's aeronautical qualifications, if any?

R99 asked: "Has anyone on this site, including Bruce Smith, actually met Galen Cook or heard of him previously?"

I talked with Galen by phone a couple of times years ago. He seemed intelligent and thoughtful. Galen had a hunch that he might find some Cooper loot in a Canadian safe deposit box that Gossett had rented. He was heading to AK to finish his Cooper book. The loot wasn't found and the book is still a work in progress.

Smith and Cook are friends. Here they are in August of 09 - this photo is on Google Images easily available.

Cook has always claimed a working relationship w. Seattle FBI, Curtis Eng in particular who he says shows him or gives him files (the Palmer file being one). This came several years after Carr had already shared the Palmer report with Tom and me, as I recall this. I could look up the date when Cook notified me of his new acquisition from Eng, by email. Later Cook began to ask me questions about my Palmer report. Soon after he claimed mine was a redacted copy Carr had passed out. Cook claimed he had more and deeper info in his Palmer report than what Kaye or I had been given, but he refused to share any details. The force of Cooks claim is that Kaye and I are missing vital Palmer info ... because we were given a redacted report. Cook makes a lot of things up, he is well known foir that and has been nailed a number of times for it - that is why he is not allowed to post here by Dave! Cook tried to get us wrapped up in one of his schemes/attacks against Blevins several years ago and that lead to his instant demise here at this forum. I find it funny that Smith tries to bring Cook's posts here! The whole thing is a circus we can do without!  :chr2:

My Rebuttal

1. I posted the info on the Palmer Report from Galen because I thought it might be useful to our discussion and the overall investigation of Norjak.

2. Galen and I are friends. The pix posted above is legit, and was taken at Fish Tales Pub in Olympia, Washington, a wonderful spot, just west of Victor 23, btw. The pix is also posted in my book, along with a more complete description of Galen's contributions to Norjak.

3. Hearing that Galen is banned or persona non grata here is news to me. I thought Galen simply chose not to participate in this kind of back and forth argumentation, so never posted.

4. I never heard of the accusation that Galen is some kind of mole for the FBI and giving them our personal business. That said, I always assume the feds know everything about me and maintain some kind of surveillance. Probably all of us. Remember, the NSA reads every single email in the USA and monitors most phone calls, albeit scanning them with algorithms. On a personal level, to not be aware of this dynamic is foolish for an investigative journalist.

5. I agree, some of Galen's earlier bantering and baiting certain individuals was not in the best of taste. Sometimes family members go a little off the rails here in the Vortex...

I don't think the FBI has the slightest interest in the Vortex or its inhabitants... with the possible exception of one hot blonde.

Galen's Rebuttal

Galen has asked me to post this:

"Shutter asked me politely to refrain from posting, which I agreed.  Occasionally, my friend Bruce Smith will sort out a few things on my behalf.   The Tina Bar discussions haven't changed since the old days back in 2007 at the DropZone.   Same old material regurgitated ad nauseum by the same old people.   The Palmer facts haven't changed.  What has changed is the temperment of the old hands from 10 years ago.

Well, to put an end to this story I will explain what happened...Galen joined the forum and posted several times like everyone else. then he slowly started posting things about Blevins..he was asked to stop several times, I believe on and offline. he apologized and went right back into attacking Blevins..people started sending me PM's about this. I then put Galen on approval only with his posts, this was due to rapid posting..then he sent me either an email, or PM asking me to remove his name, and that was the end of it...several people asked him about his suspect in which no response was given. he became pointless being on the forum...

It is what it is...and that's what it was....

That's pretty much how I remember it, too. At least from my perspective.

Couldn't agree more.  Cook uses Smith as his messenger here?  Why can't Cook speak for himself?  Not what I call a stand-up kinda guy.  Cook seems to have barked up a lot of trees and gone on several boondoggles all the while making stuff up as he goes along.  Gotta wonder what about his real motivation here.

I've had people tell me, after I've popped off about something, that we are all really in this together, that we are all a team here.  Well, when I think of team player, Galen Cook does not come to mind.  I'd say he's looking to do all the work himself and claim all the credit for solving the case.  Yet.....I have yet to see anything substantive that he has actually brought to the table.

I think Galen's contributions to the Norjak investigation are significant. Further, they are described extensively in my book for those who want a closer examination.

But here's a synopsis: his investigation of Tina, the convent, Dr. E-T, the Dormuth's, and Tina's ex. He found Tina when no one else could. Further, Galen has had numerous interviews with Alice, Flo, Bill, and even Anderson. His research on Wolfie is invaluable, even though I don't think Gossett is Cooper. In addition, Galen's findings on the letters is singular. He has had extensive email exchanges with both Eng and Carr, plus on site visits to the Seattle Division. He successfully sued the FBI and got access to Norjak evidence. The depth and breath of his knowledge on Norjak is not surpassed.

He even uncovered the cattle mutilations on the Fazio ranch. He's spent 50K on his investigations. Who else can match that?

As for fabrication of evidence or findings, I am not aware of any. Georger says he has been "nailed" numerous times. Please elucidate.

Does he have faults? Yup. He can act like a jerk at times, and Blevins drives him nuts. So what? To me, Galen's family, and he has never lied to me.
