Shutter,
Is there a way registration requests have to be approved by you before the person gets registered?  Or, would you got lots of Spam entries to wade through?  You pretty much know who all of the  registrants are.

Yes, I currently have the registration set for admin approval. before I installed this program I would come home and find 6+ spammers waiting for approval. this would take about 20 minutes to clear them out. that's why I shut it off until a program was found. it's a huge pain in the butt these spam guys/spambots. this program checks the IP against any known spammers and blocks entry. this program was approved by "skilled" the guy who got the forum back up and running. it's a problem with these forums because they attack them knowing lots of people are on them.

I didn't want to resort to one of the many weapons I have in the Moderation arsenal, but I've asked politely several times, and used large captions etc. in order to stop people from claiming things about Robert, or Skipp without backing up what they say. this has gone on regardless to what I say, so, I have a program that will stall the site when you try and view it. it will redirect you to another place, put up false messages etc. etc. the program is called "annoy user" which I find ironic since they are annoying me!, and others who have complained. one person is on that list. the only way to be removed is either move on, or contact me explaining why you should have this feature removed.

I have said this several times in the past, a jab, or a punch here and there is no big deal, but when the sole purpose of your presents here surrounds this problem. I must remove the problem. this only causes problems for me! call it what ever you wish "breathing down your neck" I don't really care. people left DZ for this same reason. it's not going to happen here. you are playing right into his hands.

With the request by Coopsnoop his account has been removed from this forum. it's unfortunate that these things happen over dumb petty arguments. I asked him numerous times to back off the Blevins bus, but he continued his venture. I put his comments on approval status which appears to have upset Coop enough to leave the forum. I was hoping he would contribute some of his knowledge about the case instead of constant bashing that was causing problems for me, and causing other members to complain. I can't allow this to continue. this once again was what I was trying to get away from on DZ.

Coop is more than welcome to return if he decides to start discussing the case, and let Blevins be Blevins elsewhere. I'm in no way what so ever defending Robert. this would apply to anyone who can't post on this forum. I don't trust Robert for anything, but I don't allow myself to go down to his level and tie the thread up with his DRAMA. that's what he lives for.

If someone wishes to speak about something Robert says, or claims. I don't have a problem with that. back up what you disagree about. show some proof, or logic behind your findings. lets not allow Robert to be the main topic of this forum.

I will be trying a new format for this site. I already applied it last week, but wasn't sure about the options until I spoke with "skhilled". I didn't like how it was taking space away from the post, and viewing area's. this can easily be adjusted to work to our benefit. everything will basically be the same except you will see a homepage that will popup first. you click on "forum" in the menu bar to get to the topics. I think it will be a good addition to the site. if anyone has a questions, please respond here, or in a PM if you wish. feedback is always welcome.

I already upgraded the site from 2.0.7 to 2.0.9 which I was a little nervous about because of the modifications I have on the forum. some of them might not have worked, including the theme itself. I also backed up the database files in case that no good Shutter gets the site locked up again  8)

EDIT: Buckwheat, I might need your help as well with some of this. I think you know your way around forums better than I do. I can always use technical advice to help ease into transitions.

If you need me I'd be more than happy to help, but I'm not sure how much help I would be.  I haven't done any work on websites in years.  You probably know more than me on the subject.
