The question would be as to how easy was dynamite to purchase in that period?
where would red dynamite be purchased?
Not sure what you mean about blasting cap, but I disagree that the question of the moment is about dynamite.
Right now, Tom Kaye is getting ready to present on the tie particles next week. If his interpretation is wrong, it sends people - new Cooperites - on wild goose chases for the next decade. I very much want to test the theories being put forth, including my own, to save people from a trip to Oz.
I want to stick to reading the particles and finding explanations for how they could have gotten there.
If you have mustard on your tie, you were eating a hot dog. If you have chalk dust on your tie, we're gonna find out you're a teacher. This guy had precious metals and rare earth elements on his tie. Why?
If we can work down the spread sheets and eliminate all of the "mustard," so to speak, all of the simple things that can be explained away, like he got aluminum from the plane he was on, or he got gold on the tie from the direct contact of handling the tie clip with his wedding ring. If we can do that, we can narrow down the rest of the elements that might more likely come from his previous environment(s). As it is now, there are probably too many possibilities.
