Perhaps people could take a few moments and sign the guestbook on the site above..I remember how he reacted seeing the video I made. I was honored to do it. I'll miss his updates and poems he wrote along the way. I should have contacted him when he spoke of the illness back in January and then in March. I sent emails but he never replied. I knew it was getting the best of him. I will reserve a spot for him and his mother on the website....

I just posted some comments. I encourage others that knew Bryan to do the same.

Ah, I've got a shirt or two...

I signed-in at the guest book for Bryan, but it hasn't posted, yet. I knew Bryan as a kind and welcoming guy, and I wish his family well. This is a loss since he was holding the torch for Dona, the store, and all the memorabilia that Dona had accumulated over 40 years. Where will it go, I wonder?

This would be a good article for you to look into Bruce..go down there and see what the family has to say and what the future of the building will be and it's contents. If any expenses would be needed I would be more than happy to fund the entire event travel wise with a check being sent out tomorrow..things are tough for people during the pandemic..

Well, damn. I sign it today, as I do most days, to try and stay updated on the latest news, rumors and drama in the Cooper world and see this. I never met or knew the guy, don't believe I ever exchanged emails with him either. But it still sucks to see this. All of us have this idea that we will live a long long life and sometimes that's just not the case. Rest In Peace Bryan Woodruff.

Sorry to hear this, and condolences to all of you who knew him.

I might be the only one reading here that doesn't know this, but who did Bryan think was Cooper?

I will have to read through the emails I have from Bryan to find if he gives a name...I have a couple pictures. one I pulled last night and can be seen below...give me a little bit to sort through several years of emails..I know Bryan is another one who used the signature on the ticket to link to his suspect. Cooper never signed the ticket..

Dated Oct. 12, 2018. addressed to me, Bruce and Galen

Good afternoon Gentlemen,

Hopefully Dave has survived the hurricane.

Gentlemen with the upcoming D B Cooper Conference thought I would share a photo of the man who sent a letter on Nov. 22, 1976 to Ariel Store containing "The Ballad Of D B Cooper" written on Nov. 24, 1971 as stated in the letter accompanying the words and musical script

Perhaps he should have waited a few more days before sending the letter, as Cooper was indicted two days afterwards.  His statement of hoping things worked out so he could attend the annual party didn't go as planned. His 1978 postcard is an interesting response not only to his previous statement, but is an acknowledgement of his being D B Cooper. Sorry couldn't make it, "C".  Mailed from Portland, ME with a John Hancock stamp.  Do we all not sign our own John Hancock? Portland, ME "C".  I have to laugh when thinking about his attending the parties in his incognito look, funny how so many seeking him were in attendance, and didn't have a clue that he was amongst them in 1996 including Ralph Himmelsbach according to the sign in book Mom used to hand out door prizes.  True I do believe Mom recognized his voice in !996 after having sold him a pop and candy bar two weeks prior to the 20th Anniversary party in 1991.  Looking forwards to the attending the conference, but first a one on one interview with the Travel Channel.

Have a good day gentlemen,
Bryan

Bryan was an avid DB Cooper fan and has even wrote his own story on who he believes is the infamous hijacker.

This made me think that it was known.

Bryan followed the footsteps of this through his mom and kept the story going.

a video was made and he discusses this further. i just watched it last night. not sure with the name yet..

I'll ponder. Quickly, as time seems to be of the essence.

If the family is no longer at the store when I get there - at best next week, mid-week - they might be gone. Don't worry about travel expenses. The good state of WA finally decided to award me my unemployment benefits after 22 weeks of bitching....

Kermit - did you get any phone numbers of the folks at the Store?
