I just got contacted by a Norwegian podcaster to talk Cooper. What's the Swedish link?

As for REAAAAALY wasting our time, I suggest practicing the fast forward button.... It works for me.

The link is a business called "Nunya".  And you missed the point. It was that nobody knows or cares about this case except a group hobbyists. Media doesn't love this story like we think it does.

Bruce: Here is the Swedish YouTuber's link

This video has over 2 million views, and a like to dislike ratio that is off the charts.  This guy has over 3 million subscribers, who I guess probably fall into the age range of 21 to 31 or so.  It's a 30 minute video, which is long, and many may have not watched the whole thing, but it is still good publicity for the case.  The DB Cooper Wiki entry had a huge increase in hits following this video, and after Case Closed re-aired on Sunday.

I do agree with Unsurelock that many people need an introduction to DB Cooper, and that could indicate that it is a small group of us that are really into it.

Plus, when Marla was talking Uncle LD and the FBI said it was their "most promising" lead in the case, it was on the front page of every English-speaking newspaper in the world.

Lastly, one of the producers at the History Channel told me that their "Case Closed" docu in 2016 was the Most-Watched docu in their history. Not too shabby, I would say. Danny Boy even beats out Adolph!!!

I do like this video. I thought it was well-done. Of course it has a couple of things off, but the whole is decent.

Yes, the question of Who Really Lives in the Vortex is pertinent. We are a relatively small group, methinks.

In the meantime, I'm practicing my Norwegian. God kveld, Norge, is "Good evening, Norway." I'm being interviewed at 11pm PDT since that's 8am in Norway. Or Norge, if you will. BTW: Netflix and all its Norwegian films, like "Occupied," are really helping me with my accent. I'll let you know what the Norge-guys think of it.

40,000 hits, huh? Wow!  Those are some real Jonas Brothers-level numbers!  And with the 800+ people who were online, glued to the Forum last night according to the 100% accurate site count (right, Shutter?) that's amazing!  And who can believe that a guy asked you for permission to use a photo...ALL THE WAY IN LONDON!!!

Have you heard of Bots, Bruce?  Have you noticed the same 5 people posting at the Mountain News yet? Have you found a second reporter at any paper other than that one guy in Seattle who is in any way consistently interested in a Cooper story?  For the record, *I* have asked for and received permission to use a Cooper-related photo, absent any fanfare, and the guy in Europe who contacted you yesterday was prompted by me.  Not exactly awe-inspiring coverage.

Since you're not responding to emails...Do me a big favor - when a guy whom *I* contacted contacts you instead, bounce him back to me like it's a wrong number, because it most definitely is.  The last thing I thought a guy one-third of the way around the world would do is push my inquiry - which was regarding simple fact-checking in a language I don't speak, by the way - into your lap.  But for some reason it appears you've been categorized as some kind of go-to guru on Cooper, and unfortunately all of your thoughts on the matter are wrong.  That special you just referenced, for example, is the one where you said into the camera, "This was really top, top secret stuff, so...D.B. Cooper was on the inside," during the same conversation you called the FBI's statements "cuckoo" and "untrue." No offense, but I don't think you're a good screen for my credibility.

Glad you bring up the pics of Tina you posted, by the way, because they were the kind of DICK MOVE I am trying to avoid.  She wasn't MIA, she was living her life, and you Princess Diana-ed her.  Most of what I DON'T post is because of EXACTLY that - the tendency of some to invade and not respect privacy. You think you found a scoop that the people have a right to know about; in reality, you exposed Tina to a small group of probably mentally-ill fanatics (no offense, everybody).  I don't want anybody else subjected to that kind of entitled wannabe journalism if I can help it.  Any questions I have for Tina can go unasked. I asked Shutter 2 weeks ago about the possibility of creating a members-only section of the Forum to allow discussion while helping protect people's information. I don't come to you because you're invasive, dismissive, and because you live your own version of reality.

You live your hobby and I'll live mine.  Anybody asking about me, send them to me.  Anybody interested in UFO's, Project Ultra or other-worldly events, I'll refer them to you.  By the way, I immediately retracted my request from captain Sweden because within hours of my email, shit was posted publicly - BY YOU.  Like a bull trampling flowerbeds in front of the china shop.  Best not to open the door.

Not quite sure what you're asking of me, Un Sherlock. You sound angry, though.

At any rate, I do not ignore yours - or anyone's - emails. Further, I didn't know you sent any to me, btw. If you are in doubt, and this goes for everyone who would like to get in touch with me - if your email doesn't get through then please send me a PM via this site. Just click on the little icon in the left margin.

In the meantime, I'm brucesmith At rainierconnect Dot com.

Lastly, I have no knowledge of any of the shit storms you say I've created in Sweden or elsewhere.

BOTS and Trolls

As someone who has run the Mountain News-WA for the past ten years, I have a degree of awareness of the "Bot" phenomenon and the presence of trolls. They are two distinct phenomena, but similar in their ability to distract, distort, and in general just be a big nuisance.

The Bots that I have come across act in one of two ways. The first clue is the rapid, almost instantaneous, response to provocative or disarming information unfavorable to powerful figures, such as Donald Trump. Some of the things that I have written or posted that show him to be a dangerous and ineffectual president trigger responses in the "Commentary" section within a minute or two of my hitting the "publish" button. That tells me that Bot Farms conduct a significant surveillance programs of the Internet and anything they feel that portrays their client in an unsatisfactory manner gets flagged and derogatory responses are issued.

The second signatory piece of Bot behavior is the alert I get from WordPress, which is the platform I use for the MN. These alerts come in the form of: "So-and-So likes what you are writing about Him-or-Her and is now following the Mountain News." Occasionally there is an email address attached and I have sometimes tried to follow up with them. I have never been successful in making contact with them, and that confirms to me the post is bogus and comes from a bot source - probably a professional operation.

Trolls are a completely different animal, and we see their work here in Cooper World from time to time. In my experience, trolls are real people with hidden agendas. Sometimes it is to Mind Fuck someone. Other times it is to seed discord, or disparage someone or their reputation. We've seen a lot of that, and the DZ is infamous for that behavior.

On occasion, trolls are violent or criminal: stealing information, hacking websites, or otherwise making life a little more difficult. On two separate occasions I have had to ask the FBI for assistance in addressing these behaviors, and I still have one open IC3 complaint, which I wrote about several years ago and describe in my book.

Lastly, trolls seem to also be emotionally disturbed, and their writings are generally garbled or unintelligible. Sometimes the reverse happens, and psychologically unwell folks act like trolls.

Nevertheless, if anyone here can expand our knowledge of bots and trolls, I welcome the education.

I couldn't find the URLs, Georger. At least they were not where I expected to find them. Remind me again - what is the importance of your request? You want to find out the source and identity of Johnnie Green, Marla, Gypsy23, et. al.? Why?
