During the hijacking, the cities of San Francisco, Yuma, and Phoenix arose as possible alternative destinations. In Tosaw's book, he includes the city of Los Angeles. We all know that eventually it was agreed that the plane would fly to Reno.

However, Tosaw indicates that it was Soderlind and the NWO who suggested those cities. Other places suggest that Cooper was the one who suggested those locations and the NWO kept telling him there wasn't enough fuel for those cities.

So, who suggested those alternate destinations? Soderlind and the NWO or Cooper himself? And was LA included on the official list or is that specific to Tosaw?

Tosaw was not on the plane talking to DB Cooper ! Read the crew interviews. The earliest known interest Tosaw showed in the Cooper case was after the money was found in 1980. And he started with a 'press release' in California. Few people even knew who he was. Some people who did know him thought this was humorous, and a bad omen, and they knew what might follow. Some FBI agents working the case thought Tosaw's press release was pure interference and they resented it deeply.

BTW: Tosaw is pronounced 'tow-saw'.  As in 'towing' a boat or heavy object. That comes from the people who knew and worked with him.

All of this may very well be true, but it doesn’t answer my question.

Bruce A. Smith:
I've always called him Richard Two-Saw, and he never corrected me. Galen calls him "Two-Saw" as well. I've never heard anyone call him Tow-Saw.

Just saying.

Chaucer:
I think I answered my own question.

Upon review of the radio transcripts the sequence of events goes like this:

1. Cooper demands to fly to Mexico City
2. NWO says there isn’t enough fuel to make it there and they suggest San Francisco.
3. Cooper declines San Francisco and instead suggests Phoenix
4. NWO says Phoenix might be possible, but suggests Reno as a refueling point
5. No response from Cooper
6. NWO suggests Seattle to Reno followed by another stop in Yuma before continuing to Mexico City
7. Cooper agrees

Bruce A. Smith:
Sounds about right.

ok. Guess agents and family are wrong, again! You and Galen trump everything else. I will let everyone know!   :nono:

His secretary never corrected me when I used tow-saw. Agents who worked with him for years all say tow-saw. One person just says: 'oh! that bastard!'  :-\
