As I've stated before, Tom actually identifies two different spots as the money find spot, neither of which is correct.

The spot I identified in January of this year is correct. Once you become familiar with the area it becomes quite recognizable. That said, it is very difficult to discover without understanding the entire layout of Tena Bar and the role erosion has played.

I'm having lunch with Tom this Saturday and will bring all of this up to him again. I'm going to attempt to get him to update his website to reflect the actual spot.

And my point is - it doesn't matter!

Both yours and Tom's "points" are ALL IN THE SAME ZONE! Subject to the same forces in both zones. All on the same planet in the same galaxy. How many angels can sit on the head of a pin and have it matter to God? Who shall decide and get an Oscar for it?

Have Tom bring along his hi-res FBI photos of TBar and show them to you ?

Enjoy the lunch. The Columbia River will continue to flow as it has for eons, in any event.

As per last number of posts.... I appreciate the responses! I would agree with 377, the money find is definitely frustrating. I have seen pics from the excavating in 1980. I hadn't seen any pics pre 1974.(of Tena Bar) Hager stressed how much erosion had changed it from 1971 to 1980. I guess I was hoping for pics that would show this.      As far as the retention pond, I was definitely looking at the wrong area. It does bring up the question of why it was dug to begin with? When was it dug? Was it dug because of actual flooding or was it dug as a precaution to possible flooding?          Thanks again for everyone's input!  Happy Thanksgiving all!

I actually have posted several images of Tena Bar that illustrate some of the change that has taken place over the years. They're on my website.

The money is really not too difficult to explain. What is difficult is breaking personal pre-conceived notions and eliminating personal bias. The evidence is what it is. We're either going to acknowledge it or not.

I opened CooperCon this year with the following riddle that I created to illustrate my view of the Cooper case inasmuch as I believe everything we need to know is staring us in the face.

CooperCon 2019 Riddle:

On Saturday, March 14, 2020, a child born and living in the
United States, will travel to Hawaii for the first time.

In fact, given that she was born at 2:47 AM on March 14, 2010,
this will be her 10th birthday.

In what state capital was she born?

By the way, no one at CooperCon figured it out.

Maybe next year I'll come to Cooper Con.  I'm a geological engineer so I can speak to fluvial geomorphology and river deposits.  But I assume experts have already looked into this and put their $0.02 in.

San Juan.

Puerto Rico is not a state. Therefore, San Juan is not correct.

Could she be from Phoenix Arizona?

That is correct!

The key to the riddle is that Arizona is the only state in the Continental US that does not observe Daylight Saving Time. Therefore, when the rest of the Continental US jumps ahead one hour--2:00 AM to 3:00 AM--Arizona is the only state that actually has a 2 AM hour.

Nice job.

Feel free to put your $0.02 in,  fluvial geomorphology speaking! What dp you see or know about bags of money in the Columbia, or on the shores of the Columbia, that Tosaw did not know, that others have missed, etc ?  :chr2:

For example, Tom believes the money arrived on Tina Bar in 1971. He never has explained how. Tosaw said 1974 via dredging deposits. Palmer said 1978-80 via flooding in the Washougal! . . . there are many theories by many people.

How much sand and debris moves through the Columbia water column a day and where does that stuff go? JY said he released five ping pong balls in the Washougal, and they all wound up on Tina Bar!  :nono:  Agent Warner suggested the money arrived with other debris in ice after 1974. Where does stuff go in the Columbia - whats the process. Why did salvage people tell Tosaw his dragging the bottom was a complete waste of time?

I'm a fresh set of eyes.  I haven't looked at this evidence at all.  I got pulled into this DB Cooper thing, I didn't pursue it.

No. She's visiting Hawaii for the first time. In other words, this will be her first time in Hawaii.

I thought it may be a trick question. So my way of thinking was that she could have been born in Hawaii, then at some point left Hawaii. So going back to Hawaii would be the first time she "traveled to" Hawaii, since she didn't travel there when born there. Obviously, I was on the wrong track.

Happy Thanksgiving all!
