Burnworth's stated alibi is that he was in Germany with his daughters.

Braden's exact whereabouts and alibi is unknown. What we do know in general is that he was married, living in the Pittsburgh area, and ostensibly working as a long-haul truck driver.

It comes down to prints and dna in any event. Stories are for internet philosophers.
My understanding up till now has been they aren't sure any of the prints/DNA they have are Cooper's - is that incorrect? I'm unclear as to what they're basing DNA comparisons on. Even if the thing gets solved and by some miracle the guy is still alive, they couldn't prosecute him without a whole lot of "funny business". Too many Coopers.

That is my understanding: DNA and fingerprints on file are inconclusive for DB Cooper. Latest DNA findings are three samples found on tie - all male, all different males apparently. Fingerprints range from 11 to 66 sets, depending on what 302 you read, the year written, or Larry Carr's posts at the DZ, etc.

A few old-time skydivers thought Norton Thomas was DB Cooper. Norton was a highly skilled pilot and skydiver and reportedly also was a Hells Angels MC member. According to rumor Norton was involved in all sorts of "secret shady stuff." Here is a photo of Norton probably from the early 70s at Pope Valley Parachute Ranch in CA, a DZ I jumped at back then. He is blonde, light skinned, not a great DBC sketch match in my opinion.

How tall was he? It's possible Cooper could have had a toupee on. It would be great to see his face next to the composite.

Norton allegedly disappeared on a ferry flight over the Pacific Ocean. Perhaps CA to HI. Some think he faked his death. Old timers say his real name was Robert Thomas but he was called Norton after some motorcycle brand.

Very interesting thread if you read down a few posts where it starts talking about Norton: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

His name is (or was) Norton Thomas. He disappeared about 20 years ago while ferrying a Beech D18 to Hawaii. His disappearance was, to say the least, pretty suspicious; He reported engine problems to the other Beechcraft accompanying him and just disappeared. This happened at night and those of us who knew Norton like to believe he headed for South America with the money.

Anyway, Norton was from California, but moved to the Northwest about 5 years before the highjacking. He was a highly experienced skydiver and pilot. He was a colorful and fun-loving character who knew a lot of low people in high places as well as high people in low places. He was a lawyer who either had been, or at least had connections with the Hells Angels out of Oakland. His girlfriend, Jeannie McCombs, was a national skydiving champion who was killed in a skydiving accident in Elsinore California shortly after working on the film "Private Benjamin."

When I saw the composite drawing of D.B. Cooper, the first thing I thought was "that's Norton Thomas." He was a dead-ringer for the composite. Evidently, the FBI thought so too because they questioned him more than once. He never admitted it to me or anyone I know, but he never denied it either (except, of course to the FBI). As far as I know, the consensus of those who knew him is that he was the one most likely to have pulled it off.

The skydiving community is pretty small and was much smaller back in 1971. For D.B. Cooper to have pulled it off, he would have had to have had some skills and knowledge (or, just maybe have been awfully lucky). Norton had those skills and knowledge and was just nuts enough to have done it."

The above account says the FBI questioned Norton more than once. have we seen any FOIA info that might support that claim?

Another guy with a backwards name, he kinda looks like Nick Nolte, in earlier days, in that first picture in the airplane.  Meyer

Jo writes: “Norton was a name Duane mentioned when he showed me a pic of a place that looked like a barn where the bikers met...MJ was with him at that time and he told me the man's wife was a jumper- but that is all I remember about the pic he showed me and the pic was never seen again....I believe it was while they were living briefly in CA.  and it was definitely before the Skyjacking.â€

I had to finally give up on Jo...she kept telling me she was blocked from viewing the forum, and then would thank me for opening it up for her without doing anything...then she would say she was blocked again, and then make a comment she clearly read off the forum? I tried to find out if she was really blocked somehow, so I asked her for her IP..she would send numbers that didn't match any IP address what so ever...then, she would email saying she lost the link...I kept getting a string of emails on a daily basis...she would email me about the block while including the FBI? it appears that every email she sends out is attached the the Portland & Seattle FBI...

It's sad that she has wasted so many years of her life over this...

I used to think like this, until a wise old prof advised me - everybody has to be somewhere doing something and sometimes its by choice. Jo loves the drama and the turmoil. Its her game. Its her nature. It's her life.

Georger understands Jo. She hasn’t wasted her life on the Duane=DBC quest. It’s keot her mentally engaged and socially active. It’s Jo’s raison d'être. Beats knitting for sure.
