Tina's religiosity spans a wide expanse: Lutheran boarding school replete with nuns, bibles on airplanes, bible-belting on lay-overs (according to Galen and Flo), a conversion to Catholicism, and 12 years in a cloistered convent.

I know that my behavior at her house in 2011, in particular sitting in my pick-up for 40 minutes after she slammed the front door three times, really got under her skin, apparently, as I read in the Rolling Stone piece.

Now, however, I wonder what she think of my mystical perspectives, as she herself retreated far from the maddening crowds, once upon a time. I have been told that some of the Discalced Carmelite nuns - well, at least one - has been observed levitating while in a state of ecstatic prayer.

My kind of gal....

18 E book,
I just finished reading Lynn’s delightful Time Travel book. I highly recommend it as it combines so much humor, wit and actual facts from 1971. Since I grew up in Portland area I was totally amazed at the accuracy of the styles, fads, language and of course details surrounding Cooper’s caper !
Considering the research Lynn must have done, if Cooper is still alive he must be getting a little worried !

Thanks, Kerm. After reading your review I 'l give The Man in 18-E another shot. I had given up earlier due to too much snarky stuff.

Time Travel? Now we're talking!

My newest YouTube video.

Some men see things as they are, and ask why? I dream of things that never were, and ask why not?

The name pf the documentary is "Wings Of Hope"

They believe when the plane exploded it blew her and the 3 passenger seat out of the fuselage. she was on the end and it spiraled down like a maple leaf seed, possibly gliding as well. then the heavy rain forest broke some of the fall as well. she goes back to the crash site in 2000 and gives all the details of the 10 days she was wondering and hoping to be found. she tells the story with no emotions by learning early not to allow it to run her life. a very good documentary.

Sounds worthy of a view, and a documentary for our times.

The trauma of Covid, like any trauma such as the girl who survived a 10,000 free-fall strapped into her seat and ten days wandering in the jungle, cannot run our lives. But it informs our lives, and can transform us into a being greater than what we have been.

For me, Covid has been a society-wide cocoon that has wrapped me in a protected blanket, allowing me to meditate longer, stay quiet, work in my garden, and becoming more aware of my potentials and fears. I am a much stronger person because of Covid, and I bless it greatly.

It's worth watching and can be found on YouTube..

Covid...It has affected my work dramatically. new construction was held back that has put a void into my area now. still mandatory to wear a mask inside stores but not affecting anything other than work. streets are busy and jammed back up again. been that way for a while. nobody even talks about it much..

One final video this year.

Your statement (beginning approximately 15:00 into the video)  that Seattle does not see winter weather and/or does not use road salt for snow and ice is not accurate.

Seattle used road salt until the mid-1990s when it was banned in favor or road sand. In 2008, after a major snowstorm was made worse by packing snowy roads with sand, Seattle began using road salt again.

My point is that if your claim is correct, and the salt on the tie is road salt, it's certainly possible for Cooper to have accumulated that on his tie in Washington State. Oregon, to my knowledge, does NOT use salt on their roads.

Jesus H. Christ. Don't you guys at the Cooper Forum EVER go directly to the source? Excerpts from the book are allowed under Fair Use rules.

Blevins, perhaps the poster didn't realize it could be posted, plus, you put your own twist on it about the lights. going to the source (you) is not a good idea since you are frequently wrong. then you would start whining about trust to the poster with a half a page of nonsense. you might be on his ignore list as well. you are a very well known liar and that's the true source! "giving it straight" like removing Skipps name and and replacing it with AB books, kind of straight.

First rule of investigation and quoting, boys:
Go to the source first. Excuse me, but duh. Otherwise you just get one-sided shit dumped on you.

Or one sided lies like refusing to give answers to rumors you spread.. still waiting on the email quote from Jim and the names of those who sent nasty emails..went "right to the source" "but duh" we now know it's more lies..

Ahem... "fair use" doctrine.

One of the deficiencies in my career as a journalist is not going to journalism school. Hence, I don't know the exact details on some of the fine points of literary usage, such as the "fair use" doctrine.

However, this is my understanding:

Fair use allows teachers and others to copy and distribute to their students any copyrighted documents. In addition, authors can quote copyrighted material if the authors are not charging money. When writers do charge money, such as for their books or magazine articles, then things get dicey.

At that point, how much one can publish what others have written is limited. My understanding is about three sentences' worth, unless one has the written permission from the original writer to publish more.

Regardless, any writer using another's work for any reason has to give full accreditation.

I told someone last week that I was impervious to Covid. I lied. I started feeling ill last Thursday evening. I got a rapid test done on Friday morning that we was negative. By lunchtime I was feeling much better. But by 6 that evening it hit and has been kicking my ass since. I did the PCR test on Saturday and it came back positive for Covid. I’m not sure where I caught it because I haven’t traveled in a month. I’d like to think I didn’t catch it because some asshole chose to not wear a mask, but I’ll never know. I feel better today than I did yesterday and certainly better than I did over the weekend. Hopefully tomorrow is better than today. Avoid this shit at all costs and wear a mask.

Hope you feel better and kick the virus...it's hard to say anymore how it really gets around. I do see a lot of people leave there nose sticking out. I actually said something at McDonalds seeing half the crew wearing them like that.

Hang in there Parrot..I'm sure you won't let it get the best of you..

Fair Use is a slippery slope. it depends on the amount as much as the reason. then you have educational use which this forum falls under or commentary or criticism or even parody. even news reporting..

Generally speaking, the greater amount of the work is used, the less likely it will be considered fair use. Previously, courts endorsed the 10% rule— if a person uses less than ten percent (10%) of the total work or one (1) chapter of a book if the book has ten (10) chapters or more, then it is a fair use.

Fair use allows limited use of copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder for purposes such as criticism, parody, news reporting, research and scholarship, and teaching. There are four factors to consider when determining whether your use is a fair one.
