HI everyone,
I'm a history professor at the University of Missouri and new to the forum. I teach a history of flight course and have developed an interest in the Cooper case. I have also run across Duane Weber in the Missouri state prison records. Does anyone know where Weber was from March 1968 through 1971? I don't think Weber was Cooper but I would still like to run this down. I tried reaching out to Jo Weber without success (thanks to Bruce Smith for his help with this). Anyone have contact with relatives of Weber's previous wife, Mary Jane (Jean) Collins?
I'm sure you are all aware of this, but I recently ran across an extensive interview with Martin McNally on the podcast ganglandwire. After listening to the podcast I called McNally. Nice guy, sounds exactly like he does on the podcast. What's amazing about McNally is that he had no parachute experience, jumped at night at 300mph with only a front reserve chute, landed without significant injuries, except for bruises on his face where the chute hit him as it deployed, and managed to evade police and the FBI until a friend turned him in a week or so later.

Welcome John. May I also suggest that you explore a gentleman who graduated from Mizzou in February of 1954? Cheers!

Welcome, John.

BTW, the Mizzou grad EU is referencing is Sheridan Peterson, '54.

Peterson certainly seems like an interesting guy. The Journalism school draws a lot of students to Mizzou.

Petey is downright fascinating.

Iran, Tiananmen Square, Papua New Guinea, and Building #6 at Boeing?

Too fascinating to be Cooper. Cooper and Petey arent even on the same level ... different personality types.  One toys and plays with the idea of being the hijacker - the other was the hijacker. So fascinate and pretend away...   ;D

I tend to agree with you, G.

If the FBI would release its dna data on Cooper, there would be an explosion of candidates being examined in familial data bases currently available. One guy is even claiming the FBI has 14 partials! Another says 44 !

Since the whole point of life in the universe is self-replication, by any means, sooner or later somebody somewhere is going to release the Cooper case dna work the FBI has. Maybe by a grave robber in Cairo ?

Has anyone been in touch with Sluggo within the past few weeks?  Or to be more to the point, is he still alive?

I haven't heard from, or about, Sluggo in a couple of years. We went on a search for him a few years before that and he sent me an email that briefly said he was okay. My sense is that he is dealing with his own life and not interested in Cooper. I find that surprising and sad. His website was a goldmine for years.

THE FBI VAULT

There are thousands of FBI files on Cooper in their "DB Cooper Vault." But it seems very disorganized. Has anyone attempted to unravel that mess? I remember, vaguely, some discussion along those lines a year or so ago.

Does anyone have access to a document dump search app? I understand from attorneys that sorting through a huge pile of unrelated docs is big business these days. I'm wondering if we can tap into that capacity to sort the FBI files.

I gave another poster on this forum Sluggo's contact information about a year ago.  That poster later told me that he had been in contact with Sluggo and that he was dealing with some health problems as I remember it.

That contact information does not seem to be valid at this time.

Does the poster referred to above have any further information on Sluggo?

I don't think my contact info for Sluggo is current, but I'll send it to you, R99.
