Yeah, the pilot and camera diver appeared to exit at a very low altitude although it's hard to tell exactly. Gutsy mission. So many things could have gone wrong.

Aviation Week magazine has a story on large drone aircraft that are under development for civilian use on their web site this morning.  The drones pictured are much larger than the drones used by the military and take off and land on standard runways.

so send a drone up at various locations to see what Cooper could have seen at different altitudes, on the night of the hijacking?

10,000 feet it's kind out of the question for most drones. I seen a video of a guy taking one to I think around 4,000 feet. he quickly ran into a problem,,,,

Here is the video...

Hi everyone, I'm back after 53 days in New York recuperating from pneumonia. I had gone to wish my mother well on her 93rd birthday and then got sick. Slow recovery for sure.

But I did see Dice the day before I got sick. We went out to lunch - pastrami sandwiches at Ben's Kosher Restaurant - and talked DBC. He promised to buy my book, too!

I was just wishing that someone along the lines of John Douglas, who was a pioneer in setting up the FBI's profiler program and who is now retired from the FBI but still involved in profiling, would take a look at Cooper.

Douglas has genuine qualifications as well as a highly successful track record in profiling.  I think his opinion would be accepted by a majority of people...

I contacted John Douglas several years ago; first on the subject of Amanda Knox, with whom he was significantly involved in getting out of prison in Italy, and then I asked if he had ever worked on the Norjak case. I got through to his handler, but never to The Man himself. As of this date, he's never responded. Sigh.

Along those lines, I got a post at the Mountain News today asking if any credible suspects in Norjak have been presented who presumably perished in the skyjack. The poster commented on how only survivors get the distinction of being named a suspect, and no deceased individuals seem to receive the same level of inquiry.

Anybody know of any Dead People fingered as Danny?

Benny Ambrose of Saganaga Lake Ontario, but they think he was swallowed by a large trout? But, he wasn't gay and 5'3" and bald ...

I think we can categorically rule out the fellow in the picture as a match for the poster sketches of Cooper. ;)

Bruce, who was the individual asking about dead Cooper candidates?

Also, I sent an e-mail a while back to John Douglas' web page asking if he had done anything on the Cooper hijacking.  So far, no response either.

The guy asking about deceased candidates called himself "Charleton." He posted on the "suspects' piece at the MN.
