Topical:

Been getting mail, for some unknown reason, from former Cooper producers and one aspiring producer who was thinking about a special on a candidate we would all recognise - it appears that latter production won't be going forward after marketing studies indicating a lack of public interest?  ;) I had to laugh when I read that line.  ;) I guess public attention is shorter than it used to be? And people's interests are more fleeting and specialised? Feeding the entertainment industry has never been easy, especially when the public itself is so divided-harried in daily life. But, all of these producers indicated they are moving on to other projects. Maybe Shutter or Bruce or 377 knows more about which way the wind is blowing? Is this a shift by the media away from interest in Cooper, Goldilocks, & The Three Bears or a temporary respite from black holes?

I had one producer ask me: 'Tell me more about this one lone witness on the ground, in the Cooper case'. One lone witness on the ground? Is he talking about the Janet Story, the people at Ariel who either saw or heard the plane, the young lady near Ariel who allegedly saw some lone guy walking out of the woods early one morning with a briefcase ? More importantly, was the money in that briefcase regular or irregular, upwards or downwards, right or left, inside out or rightside in, regular counts or irregular counts  ... and then the producer wrote back a second time - he really does seem interested in this item about the 'one lone witness on the ground'? I finally wrote back tonight telling him I dont know anything about these stories. Maybe he will write back and tell me more tomorrow?  O0 :))

Georger,
You have so many insights, I wish you would write a book on Cooper.

I would gladly take a "read the damn book" admonishment when I asked a stupid question.

The story that is interesting to me was that lady who said she was driving home from work and saw someone chucking flares out of low flying plane, and the FBI agent telling her she better keep her mouth shut in fear of the massive search going on, having to shift 20 miles...

I told Carr over at DZ that the FBI should turn this over to someone with resources like the the Smithsonian and let them write a comprehensive history, but no such luck. Now we are stuck with amateur historians and crazy people with an agenda, with a few standouts  who have done real research along the way. As a result the Cooper case has been turned into a joke.

The Janet story. No independent validation.

Guys like you, R99, Shutter and others have contributed significantly.  If the focus was on you guys instead of the crazies -- and we all know who they are -- then the Cooper case would be taken seriously.  Meyer

If today's methods and resources had been available to the people who worked this case back in 1971-80, the results might have been different, or we would have a far better understanding of why Cooper was slipping through the net. I am rather confident of that.

Why do you give FLYJACK a pass on his not-so-humble, poor bedside manner here?  It reminds me of Quade and all the leeway he gave Blevins on the DZ.  Blevins ended up ruining the whole DZ forum.  I hope you don't let FLAPJACK do that here.
Meyer

Nobody will be running this forum, let me make that perfectly clear. Flyjack got a little out of hand with the rapid posting, but at times I was right in the middle of it. I simply defused the the conflict. I asked him to give a rest for a while. nobody is getting a free pass. Flyjack is not the first person to attack another poster. are you suggesting I ban him for rude comments? I do understand how you see similarities in his actions with someone else, but they will in noway continue on this forum.

Quade does his thing, and I do mine. I don't consider being a carbon copy of him what so ever! Quade allowed the forum to run free, ignored complaints etc. I own, post, enjoy, and monitor this forum. I believe Flyjack got the message, maybe not right away, that's why I had to remove his last comment. if he didn't respect me, or this forum, he would still be posting. I try not to show any favoritism to all posters. I'm a simple guy, I don't try to pull anything over on anyone, or act as a "Head Honcho" like our buddy believes me to be. If I'm guilty of anything it would be allowing a longer leash on some posters..

I have to try and defuse a problem when they occur, chopping hands off is not my first choice weapon. I have eye's and sometimes they wonder off, and then sometimes they will be watching you directly for an extended amount of time. not to pat myself on the back, but I think I do okay?

In the future, this goes out to all the posters on this forum. if you have any issue's what so ever, please contact me, and they will be addressed as quickly as possible...

Our goal is to try and find some reasoning in this age old hijacking. lets work the problem?

A poster thought it would be a good idea to find out what everyone believes about Cooper's fate. a new poll has been started in the Clues, Documents And Evidence About The Case thread, so cast your vote and lets see what you think  O0

Poetry from Jo Weber

Galen just sent me this poem about Duane. Apparently I'm not on Jo's Mass Mailing List anymore...sigh.

You'll never know just how much I miss you
You'll never know just how much I care
And if I tried
I still couldn't hide my love for you
You ought to know
For haven't I told you so a million or more times
You went away and you took my heart with you
I speak your name in my every prayer
If there is some other way to prove that I love you
Honey, I don't know how you'll never know
If you don't know now
Yes, I speak your name in my every prayer
Oh, if there is some other way to prove that I love you
I guess you're gonna have to show me how
You'll never know if you don't know now

Jo sent me a couple of emails yesterday, and one of the emails was this poem.  I saved it.  I pondered on it, too.  What has driven Jo to pursue her story, her suspect so diligently these past 20 year?  I just found out -- I mean really found out  -- why.  The poem says it all.  Thank you Jo for sharing your poem, very touching.
