Things are starting to get a little crazy down here. gas lines, stores packed with people. the storm seems to be pushing further west with the tracking. we are now under a hurricane watch...

Colbert's book has TONS of 5 star reviews on Amazon.

Are those legit?

One buyer, familiar to all of us, sure didn't like it:  ;)

1.0 out of 5 stars One Star

I did not order this book. I cancelled the order, I hope. It was a mistake.

Guys, it's a little intimidating reading the amazing deep knowledge you all have. If someone wanted to bone up, what would be the top three books? (Bruce, yours seems to have a lot of fans, like your website -- it's on my list.) And any particular blog threads to recommend, besides Shutters?

My Reading List:

1. Skyjack - The Hunt for DB Cooper, by Geoffrey Gray.
2. DB Cooper - The Real McCoy, by Calame and Rhodes.
3. Sluggo's website, which can be accessed through the Forum's vault, or directly. I Google "Sluggo+DB Cooper."
4. Washington State Historical Museum, peruse their vault. They have many of Larry Carr's posts on the DZ archived there, but it is not complete.

Places to avoid unless you have a LOT of patience and/or Tequila:
1. DZ archives
2. FBI vault and their DB Cooper website(s)

2nd Level reading:
1. Himmelsbach, NORJAK.
2. Tosaw, DB Cooper - Dead or Alive.

3rd Level Reading:
1. Formans, The Legend of DB Cooper (the Barb Dayton story.)
2. NimiWrecks, aka Ross Richardson, Missing, (The Dick Lepsy story.)
3. Andrade's new book. I haven't read this as I am waiting for the hard copy edition. But Marty is a keen observer of the Cooper story and a fine writer. He has a blog, too.

What to Avoid or RISK Endless Mockery, Migraines, or Indigestion:
1. Into the Blast, RMB and Skippy

Interesting but Not Too Interesting:
1. The DB Cooper Case Exposed, George Nuttal

Getting nutz down here. most gas stations are out of gas. price gouging going on. I'm driving a diesel, so most stations had my gas, but just about every station I past was empty.

I would agree with most of this but include your book. Stick to the major authors and by all means read Sluggos site and R99's work! That it seems to me is mandatory.

Dave's vault here has become quite good and a great resource! There is also a very nice working Search function here which can be used. Ive used it often. And of course the DZ Archive and DZ search function  here: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login .... the whole thing makes for a nice Fall-Winter reading project.

Are you staying put for Matthew? It sounds like it will make landfall a little further north - Palm Beach, Jupiter, and northwards. I would expect that you will still get a wild ride - loss of electriz, wind damage, flooding, etc.

All the best. Keep us posted when you can.

As a rule of thumb, I try to stay away from books that are geared toward a certain suspect. While Grays book does center around 4 suspects, he doesn't point to any of them as being Cooper. It's a good read and I would recommend it. Bruce's book is very good as well. I would read those two before I picked up one of the ones that point to a particular person as Cooper.

Shut, I think your governor is telling folks to gain elevation - 5-9 feet - not dive (!) But a submarine is the safest place to be when things are dicey on the surface...

See you when you come back up for air.
