That's one possibility, Jason.

Another is that DB Cooper is very different from you - or me. One possibility is that DB Cooper is a trained professional, a commando or special ops guy, who lives in a very isolated and insulated world, such as the residential "collars" that ring the rural military facilities of the south - Elgin AB, Fort Bragg, etc. As a result, it is possible that DB Cooper never rubs elbows with any of us, and doesn't even think to do so.

Of course.. But things like this, dont happen all the time, and if he got away scott free, then I would imagine that this would be his baby.. Im sure he would keep tabs on what is going on, just to see if anyone is pointing fingers in the right direction.  I dount he scurried off into a trance, never to be seen or found.. There is always someone looking for him... I also dont see why it has to be this hyped up military thing.. It could have been more simple, as long as he knew how to parachute, he could have had some lessons weeks before, and simply took the risk... Maybe he read somewhere about this airplane, and the aft opening.. Odds are he had experience, but maybe not military.. ?  Okay, well he probably did.. lol

I kinda like what CitizenSleuths came up with as a likely profile for Cooper, although obviously it didn't aid in finding a suspect thus far.  If it's accurate that he had raw titanium particles on his clip-on tie, that seems like a lead that should have led to something.

You would think that it would have certainty narrowed the field of candidates. Of course, there are those that think the tie was "most likely" picked up at a second hand store. This of course is because the tie coming from a second hand store keeps certain suspects from being eliminated. Even the ones that are already eliminated.

I think the tie possibly not being Cooper's is valid, but in 1971 would someone be worried about something like that? today, yes, but odds are it was probably Cooper's...much like the Amboy video stirred things up again, it appears the FBI closing the case due to "no credible leads" also has fueled some suspects back up. Galen was on the radio with "new evidence" Jo is sending away with emails, and Bobby is still pushing the short bald guy who worked for NWO for 20 years after the hijacking....

Interesting responses in the documentary toward the suspects by Tom and Billy.

I assume their opinions were influenced by their conversations with the FBI.  (I don't mean to say the FBI told them anything, but they could probably get a sense of who the FBI thought was a real suspect and who wasn't).

Duane Weber was rejected because of his appearance
Kenny Christiansen was rejected because he was an employee of NWA.

Sheridan Peterson they just left with an awkward left when asked if he could be Cooper.
And, Marla gave the the opportunity to reject LD because of her far out conspiracy story, but they didn't do it.  Fuentes asked if the "crazy" part cancelled out the other part.

And, they rejected Rackstraw pretty definitively.

Rackstraw had a very distinct manner of speech. Tina was listening carefully to the video they showed her. She said it wasn't him. I think she would have ID'd Rackstraw had he been DBC. Also unlikely that Rackstraw, who was in his late 20s in 1971, would have been IDd as middle aged.

I have watched Sheridan's interview several times. What an immensely entertaining performance! I can't help but like the guy even if he did stiff Sailshaw for rent money and falsely accused me of being CIA/FBI after I sent him a holiday cheer package.

Sheridan said he ran into smoke jumper friends in Vietnam who were working for Air America. That makes it highly likely that he knew about the 727 airdrops made over Thailand. Jumpers talk to each other, especially about interesting new matters pertaining to parachuting. Wish they had asked him what he knew about 727s airdrop capability, when and how he learned it.

I laughed when Sheridan said "EVERYTHING pointed to me, EVERYTHING."

I was finally able to update the forum from 2.0.9 to 2.0.10, hopefully this will fix the problems that have been occurring over the last couple months. a patch was needed prior to upgrading to 2.0.10.

Maintaining the forum is relatively an easy job, but when certain problems occur that can't be understood, it makes things difficult to try and keep the site running properly. several times a week I clear out the cache, and a few other house keeping items. other than that, it pretty much runs all by it's lonesome  C:-)

Let's see what happens.....

It has come to my attention that some of the new members might not be getting any notification that they have been approved. Bruce Smith sent me an email in regards to someone who was waiting to be approved. once I looked up the username, I noticed it was already approved, and the notification was not sent for some reason...I looked into the settings, and it appears to be set to inform the members of approval?

I will look into this further to see if this in deed is the case, and resolve the problem...

I am here.   To introduce myself, i am a retired Army officer living near Tacoma, WA.  I was stationed at 25th NORAD Division at McChord AFB, WA from 1967-1970, so am familiar with the capabilities and limitations of radar coverage and systems used to track downed aircraft at the time of the hijacking.  From 1972-1994, I worked as a civilian in Disaster Preparedness at McChord.  One of my duties was recovering aircraft wreckage and human remains from downed aircraft, so I am familiar with those procedures as well.  I also investigated reports of aircraft wreckage found by others.   My conclusion about the results of the Cooper hijacking was that Cooper survived the jump but lost the money on the way down. I came to that conclusion about six months after the event and subsequent findings have confirmed my initial theory.

Another conclusion I have come to was that Cooper was NOT a Military or CIA trained parachutist, nor was he a smoke jumper.  I can expand on this if desired.

I believe the best thread to post under would be the "Clues, Documents And Evidence About The Case" thread. I'm sure everyone would love to hear what you have to say..

You have the floor...

Zika Hits Cooper Country

If you're coming to Cooper Country anytime soon, be careful if you have sex - let's say at the BBQ in Ariel next month. Zika has been positively identified in Pierce County, WA by the local health department. The Mountain New-WA just received a press release from the Pierce County-Tacoma Health Department that a 20-something male has been confirmed with a Zika infection, but is not experiencing any symptoms. He had recently traveled to Puerto Rico, and officials suspect that he was infected there and then traveled back home with the virus in his system.
