This is a video by Dr. Todd Grande, a psychiatrist, has attempted a psychological profile of DB Cooper. The first seven minutes of the video recount the facts of the crime (he gets a few things incorrect). The next 9 minutes are his attempt at creating a psychological profile.

I like it - he defines his scale (OCEAN) which is a standard model ... low to very low on neuroticism. Engineer type that wanted a last fling to do something noteworthy in an otherwise mundane life? Understood what he was doing and the risks, but waved off the risks and went ahead anyway. Managed his emotions and social interaction to minimize conflict. .. one of the better conservative evaluations Ive heard. Thanks!

I found Dr. Grande to be very un-grand. He operates from a very narrow perspective, based upon lots of flawed or incorrect information. Clearly, he has not listened to, nor is he interested in, many of the conversations that have taken place here, at the Cooper conferences, or at the Vortex podcast. He is still broadcasting canard that the wind chill was -60.

Frankly, he sounds like an FBI-clone, circa 2008. Imagine Larry Carr with no imagination and a rigid, hyper-cerebral speech pattern.

For those who would like to see an "Overview" of the case, I posted my view of things at the MN:

For your viewing entertainment, I discuss the Western Flight Path versus the FBI Flight Path.

I like the theory. Very plausible.

In regards to your suspect though ... we would now have to believe that Peterson remained in the Washington area for several months after the hijacking in order to learn of the Columbia flooding and retrieve the money. He's certainly not hearing about the Columbia river flooding back home in Nepal.

What do we know about Peterson's travel timeline between Nepal and the U.S. that can put him in the Pacific Northwest not just in November, but from November all the way until May or June?

I agree--given my theory--that it is much more likely that DB Cooper would have been aware of the Columbia River flooding in May/June '72 if he were actually in the United States. That said, I cannot discount his ability to follow the news from the US overseas. In the case of Sheridan Peterson, he was, and still is, a voracious reader.

I have seen Sheridan's passport and cannot point to anything specific that describes travel to the United States during the timeframe surrounding and including the skyjack. However, there are things that indicate that he was not in Nepal during that timeframe even though he attests otherwise.

Simply put, no smoking gun pointing to Sheridan.

Hurricane force winds  (125mph+) hit Cedar Rapids, Iowa City . . . we have been without power or any services for several days. Now recovering slowly.

Why is this even remotely interesting ? Roy Rogers and Trigger were NOT DB Cooper.

Call ahead to get a road report and utility report, wherever you are headed. Its a disaster in Iowa. Tonight some 400,000 people without power in this part of the State.

CooperCon 2020 Cancelled

After considering the fate of this year's CooperCon for the last several months in the wake of Covid, I have decided that the time is now to officially cancel the event. I have every intention of picking it back up in November 2021 for the 50th Anniversary.

In my mind, 2021 can't come fast enough.
