Lots of people are working at home now since the business they work for shutdown. hopefully, this thing will die out soon (fingers crossed)...contractors are closing a lot of offices and the project managers work from home and the job site instead of going to the office..

I'm picking up a camper I bought tomorrow. this will keep us out of the hotels and away from the public. our work is outside so hopefully it will not be an issue for us while in Tampa..it did get postponed till April 20th.

Johnson & Johnson announced trials on a vaccine today. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Shut, I'm getting a little nervous for ya - hot spots are popping up in Florida. Orlando is cooking, I hear. Tampa may not be far behind.

Lots of us are watching a LOT of news these days to learn of what is going on and what might be coming. I'm looking at the smaller picture, too - what's it like to shop for groceries like I'm heading into a surgical theater: scrubbing, disinfecting, masking, glovin' - and lovin' it! (sort of...)

In fact, I'm feeling a country song comin' on...

In the meantime, if you'd like to join me at the MN:

All I can do is prepare. April 20th is a long way out yet. If we have to push it out further then that's what I will do. I'm not going to put any of my guys in harms way. I paid $2,500 for the camper but will get my money back once the job is complete. no other costs will take place until a final date is agreed upon.

The roads are vacant down here. similar to what I see driving around hours before a hurricane is approaching. I-95 is usually gridlocked going to Miami all day long taking about an hour and a half to get down there. you can make the drive now in 20 minutes. a drive to west palm beach is the same..

paper products are still a problem. pet food is starting to to be scarce in my area. past 8 pm nothing is open except gas stations and drive thru fast food. the Seminole reservations are shutdown. our local grocery (Publix) put up lexan shields in from of the registers. the Florida Keys are closing up shop. curfews are in affect for those over 65. alerts are given on cellphones. beaches are closed. they need to get a grip on this before panic starts approaching....

I've been in LA the last several days and it's quite surreal. Traveling the roads around here makes me think that this is what the area was like in the 1940s or 50s...light traffic, roads open, not a lot of people around.

It strikes me that this is probably one of the safer places to be right now because it's very easy to steer clear of virtually everyone.

Interesting. I'm enjoying reading your observations.

I feel a bit surprised that Covid is so strong in the south. The warm temps don't seem to be curtailing it, and that does not bode well for us up north hoping for a respite in the summer.

I think they need to act a lot quicker than this?

Johnson & Johnson stock climbed 8% Monday after the company said human testing of its experimental vaccine for the coronavirus will begin by September and it could be available for emergency use authorization in early 2021.

We need something yesterday!

My observation surrounds traffic....yes, Home Depot is busy and only allows 100 people in the store at a time...

I have a number of relatives living in Seattle.  One of them drove past a park recently and said that it was crowded with people.

The potentially lethal virus circulating causes us to fear the unknown and fear for our personal safety and wellbeing and those we care for.  The lurking uncertainty of the spectre of death collecting us in the immediate future or emerging from the shadows at some time in the future to strike us down is a humbling experience.  Very similar to what a very courageous young lady must have experienced so many years ago and for so many years afterward, not knowing if he would murder her that day or would emerge from the shadows in the future to strike her down.  We can all learn from her and she is more deserving of the folk hero title than that other bag-of-shit that people build shrines to.

CoV-19 update:  Why does SARS-CoV-2 spread so easily? What structural features of the SARS-CoV-2 virus allow it to attack human cells and spread so efficiently? We round up some of the key emerging evidence. What is research targeting for mitigation and a vaccine?

It appears each state, county and city is different. Tampa is not on a strict guideline as the tri county down here is. (WPB, Broward, Dade) beachfront hotels and beaches are closed but a majority of hotels are open. campsites are open but public parks are not. some campsites are closed. 7 out of 10 called were open with no plans of closing. KOA campgrounds are open but the pools are closed with no "social activities"

Her Royal Highness continues to be displeased with the speculations of a prospector and persists in using somewhat curious tactics to control the narrative to discredit the speculator – care to explain yourself?  The dishonorable discharge theory really got under your skin didn’t it, almost like you were wronged also.  Maybe you really are COOPER Royalty! Are you the curly haired one who counts birds?
