I don't know. I'm reluctant to ask his widow. Maybe closer to the commemoration day I'll ask.

Commemoration of Life: Dwight Shaw

A service to celebrate the life of Dwight Shaw, aka Bob Sailshaw, will be held on Tuesday, March 6th at the Seattle Yacht Club at 1 pm.

I intend to attend.
I am so sorry to hear about Mr. (Sail)shaw. He provided more information on his favored suspect than anyone else had - and I'm still not 100% ready to remove SP from the top suspect list, though he is far from alone on it. I do wish Mr. Shaw could have known whether or not the FBI tested those stamps, at least for his own peace of mind. And (as for all of us), while I am agnostic, I HOPE there is an afterlife where all mysteries have answers, and all good sailors see each other in Fiddler's Green. My grandfather, who skippered a fishing schooner, could have told you all about Fiddler's Green. Here is the Irish Rovers' version. Fair sailing, Dwight.

Awhile back, after Sail here made the claim of Peterson's DNA on the stamps, I was taken aback, and asked him to elaborate... He did not do so, and was the last posting he made here.  I wonder exactly what he knew or truly meant by his statement, and if it's a coincidence he stopped posting after making that claim.

I believe his point was that if the DNA on the stamps matched Sheridan's, while it wouldn't prove the letter writer OR Sheridan were DBC, it would disprove Sheridan's alibi that he was in Nepal at the time of NORJAK. All the letters were postmarked on the US West Coast.

Yep, that's exactly what he was implying...

70 car pile up at Ames today due to the snow storm - 5 dead. 105 injured. Another foot predicted by week's end. People just will not slow down.

Yup.

I won't be able to make to Sail's commemoration service on Tuesday because of transportation issues, and I have to be back in Eatonville to take care of my neighbor's dog in the late afternoon. But I'll be toasting a cup o' java to Sail at 1 pm as the ceremony starts at the Seattle Yacht Club.

My condolences to Michele and their kids, all grown, so there'll be lots of family around.

Its the thought that counts. You have been a staunch supporter and friend to Sail for many years ... everyone knows that. But, you do need to finally do something about your transportation problem if you can. I always have this picture of you hold up in a shack riding a bicycle ... like you know who! One of these days you are going to have to get practical about life - like Sail was.

I concur. However, the solution remains elusive.
