Thought I'd share this file on Paul Soderlind, found it in an FAA magazine from the 60s:

The Mosquito that knew DB Cooper -

Humans have very distinctive body odor profiles which something as lowly as a mosquito can detect and remember! Chemical detectors can also discriminate between individuals. The Cooper tie might have preserved that profile.

Georger, you are really grasping at straws here.  Is there a scientific data base for body odors?  Has mosquito testimony been tested in court before?  Probably 100+ people have handled the tie since the hijacking so how could you pin it down to Cooper?

But science marches on and miraculous discoveries are made.  So, if possible, you as well give it a try.

Has mosquito testimony been tested in court before, or body odor info, or dna info?  Why dont you do a search and find out vs attacking me! Start with trials under the Code of Hammurabi. How long have you been a member of the Flat Earth Society?      C:-)

Seems to me you've done a complete 180 degree turnaround since you first started in Cooper forums years ago. What happened! ?  We hardly knew him?  :-\

Your original post was about mosquitos not bloodhounds or even canines that have been trained to detect drugs or bodies.  Are you now suggesting that mosquitos can supplement or replace these bloodhounds and canines?

1. This is not MY research. This is in the news - NPR Science Friday. If you want to know more, or file a complaint, contact them.

Had bloodhounds been given the scent on Cooper's tie, or the seat he was sitting on, could they have identified and tracked him back in the State of Washington in 71? Or at Tina Bar in 1980? Cadaver dogs have found bodies decades after a death and burial.

If we had Cooper's seat, could olfactory evidence discriminate between Cooper and any suspect? How much time must pass before all olfactory evidence is gone or unreliable?

If we had Cooper's seat, and Cooper was suspected of having taken a small plane to the Troutdale airport, could bloodhounds have been taken to that plane and the Troutdale airport, to look for any sign of Cooper? Or taken to motels in the Portland area. Or taken to other venues for a search?

Weren't dogs taken along in the massive 1972 search for Cooper? What were these dogs for? What were they trained to look for or key on?

It's basic science at work.

It's possible a scent could be traced from Portland. lots of contaminants and then rain can disperse the scent..you would have a better chance in the woods. a bloodhound tracked a scent after 13 days leading to some missing hikers. that's the oldest documented case.

It's possible they could of tracked his movement at Portland. how much, don't know.

Didn't they also have the seat towel(s) behind his head? (or whatever you call those things...) Of course there was the tie, don't know how much scent it would pick up - mainly from the hands, I guess, as not worn against the body.

As per Georger's comment afew posts back about dogs being involved in the 1972 hunt for D.B.        What kind of dogs were involved? Where can I find info on the hunt? I don't think I have heard of this before. Sounds interesting.

Ive seen two photos taken during the search with German Shepherds in them... will try and find the photos. Dogs entered the plane first at Reno.

Apparently the dogs ate the crew meals in Reno, but I'm not sure where I read that. :D
