Those Kaman patents are in Colorado Springs, CO

Is there an OR or WA connection? I'm wondering why Kaman is interesting.

Because they mention a nice amount of the elements they supposedly found on the tie

If it wasn't Cooper's tie, he might be less concerned about taking it with him.

precisely ... especialy since he took other steps to hide his identity.

and with that in mind let me start to post a series of related docs.

I think he left it behind so it didn't get in the way while jumping. the question would be why he didn't throw it out the back. was it a gift to the FBI because it wasn't his?

why not stick it in your pocket?

Nah, it was Barb Dayton's final symbolic farewell to Bobby Dayton. Took everything she had to be nice to the stews without the wig on.

Let's explore the possible scenarios for whose tie it was. Feel free to trash my speculation on probabilities.

- The hijacker's tie (95%)
- an embarrassed FBI agent who left his clip on at the crime scene and never copped to it (2%)
- a passenger who left it there while waiting on line for the bathroom (1% - they would have said something by now)
- a previous passenger, possibly having tucked int n the seat pocket with the magazines (1%)
- other...?

It's interesting at the marks on the tie (they are the front? at first I thought they were rear)

Of the two tack holes, one is very worn.

The tie bar wear spot, could just be from storage of the years at the FBI

The one tie tack hole is the most worn spot. It has some discoloring probably from corrosion or something on a tie tack clasp.

But that must have been from storage? not real wear?

oh I assumed it was the rear of the tie.
it's the front, right

still, the wear from the one tack is way more than the others? Like it was stored or used a long time with that one?

Ugh.  The last line is the punchline.  Not laughing.  They destroyed all the evidence.

It would be a good reason they can't find these pieces of evidence. back then I guess they discarded things after testing.

According to the FBI interview of Flo Schaffner,

She said that the note inside the envelope was written in black felt-tip type pen and read as follows:

"MISS -
I have a bomb here and I would like you to sit by me.”

<Flo> said that ’’MISS” was printed but the remainder of the note was written in neat legible handwriting

Now what jumps out at all the hundreds of pro editors that post on this forum?

The compound sentence, of course.

A compound sentence includes two independent clauses joined by a coordinating conjunction (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so). In a compound sentence, the conjunction is in most cases preceded by a comma.
However, if both independent clauses are very short, it’s acceptable to omit the comma.

So the question is: Is the 2nd independent clause short enough to emit the comma before the "and" ?

And why didn't Flo mention the consternation I'm sure she shared?

Dare I say it? Reca dropped out of school in eighth grade. Surely the note provides evidence that ties Reca to the hijack?

I would also note that the wikipedia entry for Cooper incorrectly says that the note was all printed. This really bothers me. I'm hoping there is someone with OCD that can fix this part of the broken internet.

If I remember what Tom Kaye said at the Coopercon:

"Be on the lookout for a suspect from Tektronix who snorted phosphors and eschewed commas in compound sentences."

No one can deny what I have just posted.
Compare my claim to any of Reca's claims.
I think I am meeting the highest standards of credibility.
