R99. I showed a picture of the chute to the rigger chosen to repack the chute...here is his response..

I was in Kapowsin the day of his jump, I remember it to be a 26ft conical also, I believe the container was for a 28ft canopy, the pack volume for the two is not that different and in the old days we did a lot of that stuff.  Jeff

We will know for sure what the canopy is within 5 seconds after the rigger pulls the rip chord.

Hayden speaks of the lead seal but that was after it was packed in 71. it was repacked in 82 when Bruce said he was told by Hayen he got the chute back in 82. fly says the chute was returned in 75. I still have a feeling they opened the chute...

I hope we get the green light. I believe the chute was on loan first, wasn't it. then they bought it from Hayden?

tried calling the Historical Society but they are closed on Monday's...

I sent the rigger a picture of Hayen's chute asking him what type it was and he responded as follows....

It was surplus military and hardly a luxury, it was also the time that real sport rigs starting to be built.  Jeff

When you connect with the WSHM, I suggest that you ask for Fred Poynter. Good guy.

We need to find out more about the Heisson Store robbery - boots?

Old sheriff's reports/docs, newspaper accounts, personal accounts for anyone still alive.
