If they were continuous how did they know the chute went out the back...

The aluminum aircraft fuselage is a reasonably good RF shield. The chase planes probably did not hear strong signals from the McCoy beacons until they were outside the fuselage on their way down.

Almost certainly not. I have NEVER seen 121.5 pinger beacons inside civilian rigs. Civilians carry beacons externally. Breitling even made one built into a wristwatch. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Might the FBI have planted beacons inside Norman's rigs? Doubtful. If the one at the WA History Museum was never opened after Norjak it could be unpacked and inspected. The packing card should show its complete inspection and repack history.

I believe the card shows it was opened two times after the hijacking...

Jumping next Saturday. Just dropped off my rigs with my rigger to get inspected and reserves repacked.

It's strange trusting your life to a bunch of fabric and thread, but it's worked for me for over 50 years.

Twice I have had to go to plan B but that worked too.

The thrill never wears off. The rush as you leap out the door and begin freefalling is just amazing. The fear as you pull, waiting for your canopy to open, is sobering, almost sickening actually. If something goes wrong you simply don't have much time to deal with it.

And all this is wearing two chutes on a sunny day over a large clear DZ. I can't even imagine what Cooper felt.

I think the timing and the date are critical here - 11/26 two days AFTER the hijacking at 3:30PM. in the afternoon. The pinger going off is tracked as moving first NEAR EVERGREEN AIRPORT, JUST EAST OF VANCOUVER, WASHINGTON, THEN HEARD SECOND TIME NEAR REYNOLDS ALUMINUM PLANT WEST OF VANCOUVER. HEARD FOR APPROXIMATELY FIVE MINUTES then SIGNAL FADED OUT.

So heard at locations separated by miles traveling east-to-west all in the space of five minutes. How fast is it moving?  What is the distance between these two locations spanned in the space of five minutes ? It almost has to be airborne doesn't it ?

 ;) ;)

Can't configure..it states the signal was heard at 3:30 then the second time at a different location and was heard from there for 5 minutes.

You need the time of the second location to figure speed..

If you read it that way then yes - no way to calculate. But its obviously in motion ...

Some people keep saying the FBI planted a pinger in the chute(s) or money. That is doubtful. Who in the case at Seattle would have been familiar with such devices and technically trained to do that?  ;)

Ironically, neither Hayden nor Cossey mentioned it.

Thus, if a pinging device was inserted into the chutes, it must have been done once it passed from Georger Harrison's hands at the NWO freight desk and onto the tarmac driver and FBI/FAA agent and/or the Seattle PD detective supposedly out with the chutes and money bag in Al Lee's vehicle..

This would be that "funny stuff" Cooper was against. they didn't know what chutes he was taking nor did they think he would open one on the plane. the signal heard days later would imply Cooper turned the device off and jumped and then for some reason turned it back on days later.

Cooper never mentions it. the files state nothing about it. I doubt it's been held back from everyone. it just didn't happen.

Must post here - Chute Thread is locked! Flyjack says:

BOOM, I got it figured out….
Cooper took Cossey’s back chute not Hayden’s. Hayden did supply two back chutes one was given to Cooper and left on the plane but it wasn’t the one he got back.. Hayden got back the other chute not given to Cooper.
Cossey was correct, Cooper jumped with his back chute. NOT Hayden’s.
Proof, the unused chute found on the plane was a 1960 model, 24′ Pioneer.
The one Hayden got back was a 1957, 26′ Pioneer. So, there is no way Cooper jumped with the other Hayden chute. It had to be Cossey’s. '''

So Cossey was right! Hayden doesnt know his own chutes! Bruce knows nothing about chutes and did not pick up on this in his interviews with Hayden! Hayden has said nothing for some reason! He accepted a chute back from the FBI that wasn't even his to begin with! And Cossey was telling the truth all along . . . !

This actually makes some sense. All of it.

I took a couple of nice close-up pics of 377's Cooper twenty recently. 377 asked me if I'd make them available to view. Given the limitations of file sizes on the forum, I've posted two pics on a separate page I created on my website.

They're viewable at:

Chute follow up as its unfolding today (right now) at MN:

FLYJACK says:

Whoa,, get the story straight here,, herding cats.

Cossey and Hayden both sent back chutes to the FBI.

The chute left in the plane was a 1960 24′ Pioneer, that is Hayden’s (#1). (per FBI docs)

The chute Hayden got back was a 1957 26″. (#2)

So, Hayden didn’t get the chute back that was left on the plane by Cooper (#1), he got back the one that wasn’t given to Cooper. (#2)

That means, Cooper got one from Cossey and one from Hayden (#1). Since Hayden’s chute was left on the plane Cooper jumped with Cossey’s and he wasn’t lying.

Everybody got it.

I’ll be here all week and don’t forget to try the veal.

oops 26′ not “, that would be a Spinal Tap move

The evidence is in images posted at DZ. The Hayden chute card and the FBI doc.

Bottom line, Hayden got back his chute that was never given to Cooper and Cooper jumped with Cossey’s chute.

more: Fly says...

and Georger is wrong,, Hayden got back his own chute, it just was never given to Cooper, his other chute was and it was left on the plane.
